Hemi Fever tuning!

Post by TrueBlue13PW » Wed Dec 03, 2014 6:41 pm

I finally bought a Trinity with Hemi Fever tuning. I know our trucks were not built to be speed demons but I still like a little performance. I've never been disappointed in how much power my truck had but didn't like how many RPM it lost between shifts at WOT. Well I first put on the 87 performance tune and took it for a short trip down the road. Didn't expect a lot it being a gasser tune unlike the tunes on my 6.7 but expected more. I thought well I bought the tuner for a bump in fuel mileage and to adjust the tire size mostly anyway no big deal. I then put on the fuel booster tune and took a trip to town. Still didn't feel much of a difference in power or driving but did look like it was running higher on the instant MPG scale. That evening I got home and Sean at Hemi Fever emailed me the custom tune for my mileage booster tune. Sorry I skipped a step or two about sending Sean my tune. Anyway I loaded his custom tune thinking it'll be a little more efficient and get better MPG. Wow what a surprise :lockedandloaded: His tune made night and day difference the RPMs barely fall between shifts now the power is very noticeable. Here is the picture of the first 1/4 mile time and the first 0 to 60 time. I think it can do better on both counts but don't want to get busted speeding. LOL. I thought it might be fun to see what times other guys are turning with their tunes. I wonder how much of a difference it would make to have Hemi Fever tune the 93 performance tune? I'm happy with the custom mileage booster tune I have other toys for speed but like I said I do like having some performance in the PW.

Sean at Hemi Fever if you ever read this post you are the man. :lockedandloaded:

Which trinity did you get? Do you have a part #? I'm thinking of getting one eventually. Glad it worked out.

The package says one part number for all applications T1000. The best I've seen to buy is directly from Hemi Fever's website. I got my tuner for $539.99 shipped including his custom tune.

Keep us updated on the mileage gains. I'm unsure of which tuner I want to go with when I go to get one.

Good to hear that you are happy with the tuning. I had to switch tuners after Sean was not able to get my truck to run like it should and didn't really want to work with me, but sounds like he is back to making good tunes. Keep us updated on how you make out.

What year?

I have 2014, just installed 315/70/17's, and would like to be able to adjust speedo...

Obviously this unit is overkill for me, but...

Will do I'll have to finish off this tank because stomping the GO pedal has been so much fun since installing the tune. When I refill I'll post the outcome of the next tank and a few following it.

That's a shame to hear. My experience with Sean was excellent. I had several questions along the way and he was very good at replying quickly. He made two tunes for me the mileage booster tune and a 93 octane tune. He told me once I get 3 tanks of nothing but 93 octane to do some logging send the logs to him and he'd dial it in for me. I'm not in a big hurry for the finalization of the 93 tune but I do appreciate him fine tuning it.

My truck is a 2013 but I do think I seen that it supported the 6.4 Hemi ram when I was scrolling through the list of vehicles while programming mine. I'm not 100% sure on that so don't hold me to it.

Yes, Diablosport does have tuning for the 6.4 and Sean does have custom tunes for it as well.

I also have the Trinity on my '12 and with the mpg booster tune I gained 1-2 mpg over the course of a month or so after switching to it. Also have very similar times on the 87 octane canned tunes with mine. Cant remember for certain but I think I had a 16 second 1/4 on my best run (only took 2 or 3) and a 6.95 or so on the 0-60.

Screw that mile booster tune, he gave me a couple 93 tunes and the SOB will turn my 37's  I'm averaging almost 14mpg to boot, if I can stay off the throttle. :D I have the inTune though, not the trinity so I dont know what the 0-60 or anything is. I know it doesn't take much to get her going slideways

Sean is good. He did an SCT tuner for my V10 and for another guy on our forum, we both ended up with rocket ships after tuning and adding a throttle body and exhaust. I actually could burn the 41" Iroks off with 3.55 gears, I don't know what it's going to be like once I have the Rockwells and their 6.72 gears under there. It's cool to see he is doing tunes for other tuners, I thought he just did SCT. May have to get him to do something for our Power Wagon too.

Love hearing this. Just want alittle bit more to turn the 37's at higher offroad speeds..... Just concerned about tranny longevity after that torque management is reduced ..?....

I think the auto trans is a pretty good unit. I'm not worried about it. Just updating the first tank on the MPG custom Hemi Fever tune returned 2 MPG better than the average of the 4 tanks previous to it. I'm getting ready to make a 1000 mile trip in the power wagon so I'll update you guys on what the full highway tanks return probably by Monday.

It will pay for itself fast. The transmission shifts way better, which is better for it.

OK. I did a couple 0-60 runs with a stop watch in hand. First was 7:13 but the tires barked. Second was 6:86 and the last was 6:73.

That's all stock other than the tuner and I'm on 37" Yokohamas with a topper and a bedslide with about 50# of tools in the back.

I'm telling ya, they wake up with the right tune. :)

Sounds good I'm interested to see if the tranny does shit better as most if the tuners aren't displaying any change in transmission tunes in their websites.

Well I though I would update everyone on the results of the 2000 mile round trip the 2013 PW just made. With Hemi Fevers custom MPG tune it's best take was 17.4 with the Diablo MPG booster tune it's best tank was 15.8. The Hemi Fever modified MPG booster tune has a much more performance feel to it. I haven't done a 0-60 or a 1/4mile with the Diablo MPG tune but would expect it to be quite a bit slower. Over all very happy with the custom tune from Hemi Fever and very happy with the Diablo tuner. I'll update this thread from time to time as I have more data.

Hemi Fever MPG booster tune:
Tank 1 15.8
Tank 2 15.4
Tank 3 17.4

16.2 AVG

Diablo MPG booster tune.

Tank 1 15.8
Tank 2 15.4
Tank 3 15.6

15.6 AVG

Prior to tuning my lifetime average for the truck was dead on 13.0 MPG Best tank prior to tuning was 14.8 and that was during the summer. I think the millage is likely to go up during the spring and summer. Winter fuel is known for a minimum of a 1 MPG hit usually.
