2013 vs 2014 ground clearance

2013 vs 2014 ground clearance

Does the 2014 have more ground clearance than the 2013 because of the different tires or are they the same ground clearance. On everything I have read I gathered that the 13s have 2 inch lift over stock and the 14s are 2.5 inches taller than stock.

If you're talking under your diffs generally all generation power wagons came with the same under the diff clearance since they all rocked 17 inch rims I believe with 285's. Yes the new generation comes with the a different brand tire but generally the figure changes would be negligible at best. Yes chassis height does seem to vary with the third generation Power Wagons being the highest so far... Not sure if the 2015's have been brought back up to third generation height. The third generation sat 2 inches higher from suspension and 1/2 inch from tire.

I am going to assume they are pretty close to the same. My only thought is if the new Goodyear tire or the new suspension changes the stance a little, I would assume all 4th Gen's are the same. I could be wrong though.

2014 Power Wagon has slightly less ground clearance (under the differential) due to the switch to the 11.5" AAM rear end

It's two different measurements.

1. Ground Clearance is measured from the lowest point on the vehicle to the ground (which is usually bottom of front or rear diff, unless it's a Chevy, then it's from the front air dam which is almost on the ground :D )

2. Lift is measured from the top of axle tube to the undeside frame rail (dirty method) & in the rear it has to be inside of the rear jounce bumper, which doesn't account for tire size, or some measure from hub vertically up to top of fender for total lift.

The new PW has bigger diffs & axles & hence less ground clearance, but it has ½" more body lift.
