I wish someone would do it, I want to see it on a dodge. I'm really scared of the clearence lights, not sure if it will look right with them back there

I wish Rigid or someone would come up with some offroad lights that would take place of the clearance lights and be able to control them separately. If they made the light to cover the existing holes, I would do the wiring myself. I thought about getting D2 Dually's and fabbing brackets for them. I dont like the clearance lights personally and would rather make it more useful.

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

That's my concern too, I think the LED bar with the clearance lights would look kind of lame. I thought about having a roof rack put on the truck with extra lights, but I have a sunroof (that I never use because I live in frozen tundra Montana), so I think the roof rack is out.

Evan at backwoods bumpers has a curved slimline that I want to put on but I just am not sure about the clearance lights with it. I think the slim would fit way better either way. I may swing in next Wednesday just to throw it on for pics.

I have had rooftop lights and they are miserable to use w/o some kind of deflector to keep light off the hood and windshield. Making a working shield will be even more of an issue with a curved light bar. It also makes for a problem running tight trails without inevitable damage. Not a very good option in my opinion, but hey everyone has their own idea of what is or is not acceptable when it comes to lighting.

Yes, like that. Can that curved 50" LED light bar be mounted to the stock bumper on a 3rd Gen ? I am curious if the curve matches, or at least is close to the curve of our bumpers ? I realize that the higher it is mounted the better but would like it bumper mounted. That way, no glare issue off my shiny red hood or the windshield.

Anyone ?

There was a member who mounted a curved bar to bumper... 4th gen iirc and said it didn't match exact but was damn close.

Here's a 4th Gen Power Wagon that was over on Dodge Talk (I can't find his build thread, but I found these with the power of Google).

I too would be considered about the glare and possible damage. That's why I went the way I did and threw a few LED light bar's behind my grill. They might be a little better if mounted to the bumper, but it's pretty hard to steal these suckers.

May as well save a few dollars...
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_ ... +light+bar

It looks like they have really dropped in price, about $220 is what a 50" curved bar goes for now and about $190 for a 40" bar. When I was to SEMA last year I found out that just about all the light bars were made in china at one of 3 factories. They all had as an option re-badging, different mounting kits or housing designing for large orders. Anyone can just buy their generic design lights in smaller quantities to sell them (like 50-100). I think that Rigid industries lights were the only exception to this, although I'm not positive... because I couldn't get a straight answer at their booth.

I have heard pretty much the same. Rigid and 1 other are the only US made ones that would fall into the "worth being expensive" catagory.

Basically if you don't spend for US quality you're getting the same product whether you spend $100 or $500.

Is the mount not moveable? can it be slid down or up to adjust for the clearance lights?

Imho... NO. everyone says tho "they'll last ten years and china ones like 3"

Well most won't keep the same vehicle or light bar for ten years and when they are 1/3 the price even if you do then it's pretty much a wash. With technology growing so fast I can't justify the high price because it will either be obsolete or half the price in a year.
