Copy that. I think I'm leaning towards 1. snorkel then 2. bumper. I'll have to talk to them more and really find out the details about the suspension stuff they're offering for the 2014.

Take a look at the wheel lineup AEV has. I'm thinking the wheel on the left will look pretty damn spiffy on my Power Wagon!

Man idk... looks too rally car'ish to me, I like the 8 holers though. Do they have "offroadized" beads and such for better retention airing down? I notice a sort of valve protector

That's the look they were after; it's a Dakar inspired wheel.

All new wheels have a secondary bead seat. Not like the old PW wheels or TJ Rubicon do, but it's still better than the old style single bead seat was.

So I was able to swing by AEV last night and see the SEMA truck in person, and yeah, it’s pretty damn cool. It sounds like the first of the year products will be out and ready to be ordered. The Snorkel was interested, and now I understand why they are calling it a “Raised Air Intake System.” I’m not sure I’ll say it exactly right, but the way I understand it’s not a 100% water tight Snorkel like we thought it was. When towing and under load the computer sends a signal to the intake system, and a flapper opens up behind the grill to allow more air to flow into the engine. In short, it’s not going to be 100% water tight when you’re crossing water, so don’t plan on it being used as a true snorkel.

I took a couple of quick pictures with my cell phone but it was getting dark so these pictures aren't great, but I thought I would share anyway.

It's cool to see the shop and what they are working on. Kent and Dave have been awesome to visit with, and Dave even game me a ride last year in the first SEMA truck (the view from 40" tires is awesome). My biggest dilemma comes down to what do I want to buy from them, how big of a tire do I really want and need, and how much am I willing to spend? I've thought about 35" tires, but I still need room for tire chains, which means at the very least Thuren Control Arms. However, if I go just a pinch bigger than stock and go to a 285/75 (34x11.50) I think I could skip the Thuren Arms and save myself some money. It's honestly a daily battle with myself. Throw in all this AEV stuff and I'm really torn. At least my truck will be paid for by April of 2015!

Just got an email from the AEV product mailing list.

"AEV Ram Product Availability Update

The AEV Ram Concept took the aftermarket world by storm when it first debuted at the 2013 SEMA Show. Since then, we have been working diligently to transform this concept vehicle into a reality. After more than a year of prototyping, development, testing and fine tuning we are finally on the home stretch and would like to take this time to update you as to what products you can expect to see in the very near future as we enter 2015.

The initial launch of the AEV Ram product line will focus primarily on the Ram 2500/3500 and include our Premium Front Bumper (2013.5+ Gas/Diesel), Raised Air Intake System (2013+ Diesel w/ Active Air), 17x8.5 Katla Wheel and 3" DualSport Suspension System (2014+ Diesel). More detailed product information, options, images and pricing will be released as these products become available.

In addition to these individual products for the Ram, we also plan on announcing our turn-key vehicle conversion program for the Ram 2500/3500 within the upcoming months. This will be a very similar program to what we currently have in place for our JK Wrangler and Brute Double Cab conversions.

We are excited about what the future holds for the AEV Ram product line. Our design team and product engineers are hard at work and you can expect many new and exciting products to be released throughout the upcoming year."

Sent from my mind to yours.

Damn, 3 minutes too late lol.

Heres a pic of another AEV Ram included. This one while not as decked out as the other, looks killer and gives us a glance of how our closer to stock trucks would look.

I'm really digging the AEV Wheels, those things are great. The Raised Air Intake has my wallet scared, but I don't know if I need it yet.

I agree 100%. Other than the snorkel, I saw this very truck in person at AEV, and the stance was pretty sweet. It was dark so the picture came out marginal. What I should have done was taken a picture of it next to my truck to give us an idea of the difference in stance. Whether you like the suspension they offer or not, you have to admit they make a mean looking snorkel, some cool wheels, and I really like the bumper.

That red one looks awesome. I love the AEV bumper and glad to see what it looks like without the monstrous flares from the SEMA truck.

And I'm thinking wheels, snorkel, and 285/75/17 tires. Kent did say that with the weight of the bumper you may want to look into a spacer up front to help with the extra weight. I happen to like my stock bumpers with Line-X so I'm holding off on new bumpers.

Yeah, I forgot about the weight, damn. Well at least snorkel for sure. I'll have to think about if I want to start down that suspension tweaking path just yet with 5500 miles on it. you said 285/75/17 tires, isn't that stock size? So why would you need to go AEV wheels for stock tire size, unless it's purely cosmetic? But aren't those wheels a different width & offset made for bigger tires, so will stock tires even fit?

The stock tire is a 285/70 which is a 33x11.50, and a 285/75 is a 34x11.50. The stock Power Wagon rim is a 17x8 rim with +38mm of offset while the AEV Rim is a 17x8.5 rim with +27mm offset. If I have my thoughts right, that would push the tire out a pinch, but I'm more interested in the cosmetics of the AEV wheel. I also think the 285/75 would fit just fine on both the stock and AEV Rim.

Copy. I missed the 75 vs 70 aspect difference, I was just looking at the 285. I may go with a 34 instead of a 35 when the stocks are worn out to completely avoid any rub at lock, I've got a year or more left on these. Those wheels are nice for sure.

What sold me on the 34's was Juday's Build Thread when he had 34's on his truck: http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/vie ... =13&t=2732

I don't know much about the 2014 suspension, but I know a 12.50 wide tire will rub on the control arms, and in the winter I need room for tire chains. The only fix I know of is Thuren Arms, and I'm not sure I want to drop $750 on just control arms when the suspension already does what I want it to, and this truck already takes me everywhere I want to go. I have no plans for rock crawling, and most places I travel when not on pavement is old forest service roads. My truck will never be as wild as some of the guys on here because I need it to be my daily driver, trailer hauler, and hunting truck.

LOL- to each their own. The black wheels on the AEV Ram are pretty sweet in person, and I think they just might top off the look I want for my Power Wagon.

Heres a pic of another AEV Ram included. This one while not as decked out as the other, looks killer and gives us a glance of how our closer to stock trucks would look.

There's only two problems with this pic. The truck isn't black and it's not in my garage.
