That is AEV's (American Expedition Vehicles) Ram. They're known mostly for the "Brute" conversion on the Wranglers. They teased us last year with a bunch of cool products that never hit the shelves. Lets hope they don't just build a concept truck again.

They don't seem very interested in doing stuff for the pre-radius arm trucks. Shouldn't be a big deal since the suspension kit for these new trucks are pretty much coil spacers, a set of shocks and a few drop down brackets. Carli, Pure Performance, and Thuren are already going to be ahead of that game.

The main advantage to the AEV suspension system is the fact that it moves the axle forward a bit for more tire clearance. This is only an advantage for the guys running the cut out flares and 40"+ tires.

Last year Concept was more of a "lets see if there is a market for this stuff" kind of exercise. After getting overwhelming response from the public and dealers they decided to move forward with the project. Because AEV builds all of their stuff using OEM manufacturing processes like stamping and molding the lead time to bring stuff to market if far longer that just ordering up some laser cut pieces of steel and hand welding everything together.

I am setup as an AEV dealer thru some Jeep stuff that I have done in the past and I hope to have more product details shortly.

I also work for a shop that installs AEV Jeep products here in CO. I was told we will have product "soon." As to what product and what date, I have no idea. I have used AEV products on my last 3 Jeeps. They make great products. Well worth the one year wait for tooling, stamping, etc.

SO, I'm waiting to see these parts in person. If the front bumper is anything like the prototype was last year at SEMA, that's going to be great!!!! So, fitment, date, and prices should all be released Tuesday from what I'm told. I'll update what I find out.

So here is a question- besides water crossings what else does a snorkel help with? My first thought is on dusty roads it grabs fresh air from up higher, and it may also be cooler air which helps a truck run better. My other concern is on super snowy days is it going to clog and cause more issues than its worth?

Both are other reasons for it. The cleaner air is why you see a lot of them on rigs down under... as for clogging issues im not sure but I have seen "pre filter" bags for them.

After reading through all the salivating, jizz infested posts about the snorkel & bumper, did anyone catch the rock sliders on the AEV? That's what I'm hoping for...someone to finally make some MF'ng frame mounted sliders for the 2014. I'd use those way before I'd attempt some Moses Red Sea shit that required an elevated breather.

Snorkel or not, if you get into deeper that Diff depth, you'll probably frag out your locker or smart bar electronics regardless...unless of course yours is oozing RTV or Fluid Film...

I e-mailed John, with White Knuckle off road, to enquire about the availability of sliders for our trucks, and was told that they are working on them, and they will be available in thenear future. Keep your fingers crossed, and anyone who wants them, e-mail him as well, to let him know he will have a strong business case!!

I talked with John on the phone back in July & he said it would be a while till 2014 sliders were in the design stage, he said he was swamped with current production orders they needed to fill. I was hoping by end of next summer.

Look closer, you can see the gaps between hood and fender. Tge antenna is moved up and the snorkel is where the factory antenna is on the fender.

The snorkel is way up, the hood should clear no issues. When I talked to someone in their booth today they made it seem like they should be available soon.
