Oil catch can results

Post by azracer » Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:13 pm

Well I drained the crankcase breather catch can I put on my 2009 PW and it seems to have caught close to 3 ounces of oil. I'm glad this stuff is not going into my engine and intake manifold. The throttle plate should stay a lot cleaner too. I suspect the synthetic oil foams a little and helps to suspend oil as a mist within the Hemi engine.

I added it just before the last oil change and drove the truck hard on road (normal use for me) w/o any off road runs at all. I get comments from guys I work with like "that's the biggest god damn sports car I have ever seen".

FYI only 2009 and up can use a catch can as the PCV tube is internal on the 2008 and older Hemi trucks.

Standing oil level is just under half full

Even tilted so the oil comes up to the rim you can't see the bottom of the can.

Wish the 03-08 Hemi's didn't have internal PCV systems; I'd love to put a catch can on mine.

Do you have a part number for it, and where you got it from? Sounds like a worthy addition to my truck! Does it void the warranty in any way?

Will not void warranty. Google "BT Catch Can" or "Diablosport Catch Can". Make sure to get the bracket specific to the 5.7 Hemi RAM's. Well worth the money IMO. Keeps all that crap out of the intake.

Thanks and that is exactly correct "Google "BT Catch Can" or "Diablosport Catch Can".

I got a BT catch can because it was used and quite a bit cheaper.
