Phone won't be ringing from the dealer, already know that lol.

Called Ram direct to see what my options are if the parts aren't avail. and well, they are now involved and sound like there is a case manager.

I can tell you that if they have no ETA on parts by the end of the week we will be talking about buying my truck back and one hell of a deal on a new truck!!!!

Good luck! I hope this comes to an amicable resolution, and you don't end up feeling hosed. But a sweet deal on a new PW might make you feel pretty good! Keep us posted on what they do.

Well, I like the sound of the 6.4, however I am not sold on the 4:10's and new suspension.
I herd the regular gas 2500's with teh new suspension is very stiff and "ford" like, with out being able to drive a new PW I won't know if its a more complaint ride (not looking for 1500ish, but not ford like either)

well...I did some more research last night on the new 14' PW's and.....I would take one if it came to a new truck  (Laramie though).

We will have to see how this plays out, I really don't want to get rid of my truck, I specifically bought it due to the stick, low miles and Laramie trim. However, I have no interest is waiting weeks/months for parts to fix it  (a new truck would probable take the same amount of time to come in though  ).

Not for nothing, but if this does not shake your faith in American Manufacturing, I simply don't know what will. REALLY ??? $50k on a new truck, only to find out that no parts are available to fix it only 6 years later ??? :wtf: -over ? This is NOT acceptable, PERIOD !!! Is this the new way to force people to buy a new vehicle ?

I also bought mine specifically BECAUSE of the manual trans & it's lower gears, for towing. I am so glad i bought mine brand new & changed the transmission fluid out the second day i had it, at 198 miles. Mine shifts great. Always has since the fluid change. I think the syncros breaking has to do with how hard they shifted when new, at least mine anyways. It shifted so bad i thought the trans was defective. If someone forced it, i am sure something would give & they are the weakest link. Ever wonder why DC specs a completely different lube for the exact same trans in Germany ? ATF+4 is a very HQ full syn fluid but is way too thin IMHO. But what do i know. I also bought the manual trans thinking "if the diesels have the same trans & are making 2x the tq, mine would last a good long time" but i guess that simply ain't so. They should have designated them a G56H & a G56CTD, then we would have known there was a difference going into the manual & made a more informed decision.

Just sayin'.

Yup, total sucks,

FYIW there are only a few differences between the Hemi and Cummins G56 and they are as follows:

Different Bell Housing
Different input shaft
Different counter shaft
and Maybe the output shaft (don't think so though)

Synchros and gears are the same...so what does that tell you about the current G56 still offered behind cummins.....what happens if one of those brakes and fails and parts are not avail.!!!!!

If it comes down to it, I say then send the dealer a New G56 for a cummins and convert it to the Hemi spec lol.

So....

Chrysler called early last night, left a message that was garbled and hard to understand. I called them back and got my case handlers VM, left a message to call me please as I had questions.

No call back by this afternoon so I call again....VM again, left message to call me back. That's not working for me so I call back, push a bit more with a different person and got a update. It seems they found the parts and are waiting for a confirmed ETA/shipping.

Talk to the dealer today also to see where they are with other parts. They have 1 of the 3 synchro sets, the other is in transit, and the 3rd is the trouble maker. All other bearings and seals are there, tranny is only getting bearings, seals, synchros in the rebuild and not all new parts as I originally understood (as long as its fixed I won't complain).

Funny thing is that the dealer said they have been waiting for the ETA from Chrysler since the 6th. :wtf:

If my case handler does not call me back tomorrow I am gonna raise some hell with corporate.

:wtf: Trans is opened up anyways, it would simply be foolish to spend so much on labor to only replace 3. I would see if you can locate ALL of the syncros & just pay for the parts & maybe a little more for labor. The wear will not be the same. How much more will it cost AGAIN if the ones NOT replaced fail in the future ? MUCH MORE than doing it right the first time, thats for sure. :wtf: are they thinking ??? That is like changing only one spark plug per cylinder on the Hemi ???

There are 3 sets of synchros in these transmissions, 1-2 is one set, 3-4 is one set and 5-6 is one set. So technically they are replacing all of them lol.

Well...called again and asked for a different case manager or a supervisor.

Ended up on hold for a bit and then got the "they will call you back today or tomorrow" :wtf:

So I politely explained that my frustration is maxed out and that if I don't get a call back today I will be calling back for a manager :box:

If they don't have an answer on the parts for my truck I expect a deliver date for my new replacement!!!!!!!

I am just about out of patience and on the verge of being pissed!!!!!!!

So no call back by noon Sat. and parts is not in on Saturdays so that means I got bad info. I did however get talk to a supervisor of a different dept. (not parts) who told me my case info had new notes added Sat. morning saying parts will be at the dealer this week (we will see).

I was also told my case manager would call my today and if she didn't call me by noon to call him back. Well, its noon and she still has not called....what a surprise.

I want to state the dealer has been awesome, the PPL at Ram customer Care have been great, my case manage Tamika has been horribly with communication. Many calls, messages asking her to call me unanswered (etc...) has let me greatly disappointing in the customer service.

Well...I am off again to call the supervisor...

For the record its been 3 weeks with out a truck so far, and will be at least a month before I get my truck back at this rate....for a total of 5+ weeks in the past 6 months with out my truck (including the 2 weeks for the clutch w/o out a loaner).

Still not getting anywhere with my case manager Tamika, daily calls into ram customer care, they talk to her/her supervisor, tell me I will get a call back...nope (Got one call back, no details just for me to call her...I do, leave messages, never get calls back).

The dealer tells me yesterday the parts supposedly "shipped" and they are waiting for a delivery date.

This has been the worse customer service from Tamika I have every experienced and as such I have escalated the case and filed a complaint against her...let see where that goes.

This is crazy and uncalled for to say the least.

*Update*

Good new is that the last synchro set (3-4) showed up yesterday afternoon  :excited:

Bad news is that I still won't get my truck back until next week as the shop is very busy with jobs (they could not plan as they did not have an exact date on the arrival of the parts). :( :( :(

When I get my truck back next week it will have taken a month to get resolved and fixed.

Side note:
Finally spoke to my "case manager" on the phone only to find out she can't do anything for me and that their policy is to only call every 5 days and they can't leave details messages....BULL SHIT!!!!!

Now, after calling 2 other departments I am finally getting somewhere as I am pushing for some compensation for my time and aggravation with my this whole ordeal.

Well, Chrysler has declined my request for compensation.

Not letting this go, I have request a supervisor to call me and explain why they don't feel I deserve compensation for being without my truck for a month, all the while making payments ($400 a month to be exact).

Needless to say I am not very happy about all this, I am guessing that they feel that a used v6 charger with 180K miles is an adequate loaner in place of my truck....well...its not a truck....let alone my truck, you know, the one I am making payments on and can't drive!!!!!

I am not giving up that easy....round and round, dept. to dept. I go, I am being one sqeaky ass wheel!!!

Give em hell!!! :box:
I am in a fight with Ford Canada right now over the fake chrome around the rear tail lights flaking off on my 2011 Taurus SHO with 23,000 miles on it. I bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty-----but Ford Canada is denying it claiming that this is a "wear item". I was incredulous. My retort was " You expect me to accept that chrome flaking off a $54,000 vehicle with low miles is normal? Do you think this would happen on a BMW? You are charging BMW prices---I expect BMW quality!" We will see what happens----if I do not get some satisfaction I will start shopping---because obviously Ford's extended warranty is usless.

Keep records. Exhaust all your resources. Make copies of everything, including dates, times & who you spoke with. If ultimately denied---take copies of everything, in chronological order, with a nice cover letter explaining everything & send it registered & certified mail, to your Attorney General or equivalent. I did this 20+ years ago, before kids, with Ford Motor Co. . 3 Days later I got a phone call from Ford, saying it will be paid in full & the check is already in the mail. They also asked if i wanted a $2000 discount on a new Ford. Yeahhhh-NO !!! I got the check & have never bought another Ford product. I just don't have the time or patients to do that anymore.

*Update*

Transmission was just about all back together last night.

Looks like it will be all back together this morning, and hopefully they will tow my truck back into the shop today aswell and install it, looks like I will have it back tomorrow at the latest (4.5 weeks later    ).

Little upset that my truck sat out side for weeks with 2 big holes in the floor and I hope nothing decided to make a home in my truck (if so i'm gonna cry I think lol).

Still getting the run around from RAM...called Monday...yup yup a supervisor will call you in 24 hours....waited 48 hours and no call, contacted them again....yup you will get a call by end of day...nope....contact them again this morning....yup yup I promise she will call you today.

All of this is documented and ready to go to the next level if need be....hopefully we don't need to take it there.

I feel bad for you man. That really sucks, you should at least have gotten a loaner truck for your inconvenience. Good luck in your dealings with RAM.

I just hope it's fixed right, one & done. That'll make it tolerable, never going through this again.

If I'm you, I'd source a custom built trans/clutch setup or start locating a great/complete spare setup.
