Leak around Sun Visor support

Post by rws5040 » Sat Apr 19, 2014 8:22 pm

So we had some serious rain last night, and got in the PW and had a lil water in the cab. Traced it down to the DS sun visor support. Anyone have this experience, it was suggested that it might be a from the windshield seal, or the cab light. Anyone else?

The drain plug for the sunroof could be clogged too as I've seen that be an issue.

Cab lights have been problematic in the past. Overtightened screws crack the lens. The windshield seal would be lower, I think.

 My truck leaks like a sieve. Windshield/cab lights leaks, rear window/3rd brake light leaks. Rear underseat storage compartments fill up with water & freeze solid in winter. I have siliconed them all with no change. I have ice on the inside AND the outside of windshield in winter. Takes 20 min to warm up so i can see, after work in winter.

x2 I have replaced mine for this reason as well, you can usually see some condensation inside the effected light(s).

Off topic but I wish someone made off road lights that would take the place of the clearance lights... Like a low profile, shaped to fit the roof and mount in the same spot.

This is going to come across a bit like an ass, but it's not meant to be. If I had your truck I'd have gotten rid of it a long time ago. Your truck has always leaked from about every corner. There must be some sort of twisted love/hate relationship with you and your truck.

Got me thinking the cab is cracked somewhere. I bet its something simple though and you've been all around it. Just paint the top with cool seal.

My 2011 Outdoorsman 1500 was back at the dealer twice in less than 1000 miles to have the windshield resealed.
