Re: Diff fluid ????
You will about 5 quarts. It's 2.3 in the front and 2.6 in the rear.

Re: Diff fluid ????
I just did mine yesterday and was able to do both with 5 qts of 75-90w full synthetic gear oil and two 4oz limited slip additives. I think it 86oz /5pints'ish rear, and 75oz/5pints'ish front. Fill till 1/4" below fill hole (when the tip of your pinky finger touches) don't forget a ton of carb cleaner and a qtip to clean your magnets.

^^^^^^ agree with the carb cleaner and q tips also if you have get some magnets to put in the diffs to help keep the sludge and metal shavings off the locker magnets.

Re: Diff fluid ????
The limited slip additive is supposed to be 5oz for rear, and 5oz for front, the individual bottles I bought were 4oz each (wasn't worried about 1oz difference) also could not conclude if the front actually needed it so we put it in any way. The gaskets are reusable, and don't use the limited slip additive if the gear oil already contains it. It was more cost effective to purchase it separately here in AZ.
Re: Diff fluid ????
Just an FYI, if using full synthetic gear fluid (which it calls for), the limited slip additive is not necessary. But it won't hurt anything either.

Re: Diff fluid ????
Limited Slip additive is totally unnecessary for any type of gear oil - the PW rear diff is a gear driven LS, so there are no clutches to lubricate.

Re: Diff fluid ????
If anything the LS additive may be detrimental to the operation of the diff since it requires some bias through friction of the gears to operate.Cactus Red wrote:Limited Slip additive is totally unnecessary for any type of gear oil - the PW rear diff is a gear driven LS, so there are no clutches to lubricate.
