After a trip to the Badlands. Seeing if it'll still flex with traction bars and clamped springs

Nice pic! That's some sweet flex! Badlands in Indiana? I've been wanting to head out there!!! How did your Power Wagon do out there? Are the trails wide enough to fit well? (I'm used to wheeling out here where the trails are ultra tight trying to maneuver such a big vehicle as our trucks!!!) Reckon it'd be worth the trip to come up from NC to wheel there?

Sorry, back to topic!!! I say anybody is equally welcome on here regardless of how they use their trucks!!! Specifically on the topic of mall crawlers- I gotta say I can't blame you for wanting to keep a beautiful truck in perfect shape!!! I detail the heck outta mine very shortly after each wheeling trip, a clean truck is a happy truck! (though getting it dirty sure is fun!)

It's very tight!!! Most trails it wouldn't go down. In open areas, it's mostly sand and some small hill climbs. Rock area isn't very big. They did have part of it closed, since they had a king of the hammers qualifying race.

If I go back. Small rig or 4wheeler.
2006 Power Wagon. "Stockish"
A few parts added and deleted to make it go 300' Getting Farther from Stock!!!
1974 Power Wagon..... Going to get a Gen 3 HEMI swap. Future tow rig for the 06.
2016 Power Wagon Laramie. Delmonico Red. 20x12 Predator II's with 33" toyo's. Firestone air bags. B&W gooseneck. More extras to come....

My experience is that folks will always disagree with you about something, no matter what you do. Heck, when I first got my Power Wagon my friends labeled it the "yuppie truck" because of how new/shiny/expensive it was, and even though it's beat to heck at this point the 'yuppie truck' will always be it's nickname. I'd rather it had some sort of cool nickname, but people are the way they are and one of your friends jobs is to give you crap about stuff so you don't get an inflated ego. :) My truck also gets a lot of criticism for having a fiberglass topper, but I'm willing to tolerate the comments in exchange for being able to keep my stuff dry. Though, at this point the topper has been flexed and bounced around so many times that it isn't really weatherproof...just more like mildly weather resistant. Plus, it's very secure in the winter because it freezes shut so nobody can steal stuff out of the bed - not even me! :D

On the other extreme, back in college I didn't have any money and bought an old abandoned truck out of a farmer's field for $200 - an old '73 Jeep J4000 that was held together with bailing twine and duct tape. When I showed up to the colleges' "four wheeler club" with that truck they didn't even want me to go on their trail run because the truck didn't look nice enough, and they didn't want to be seen with it in their group. So, folks will always find something to complain about - truck's too nice, not nice enough, too tall, not tall enough, wrong brand, whatever. I *will* admit that my old Jeep was pretty rough...it didn't have enough sheetmetal left in the front to mount the blinkers, so I just sprayed a bunch of that expanding foam in the hole and jammed the blinkers into it to hold them in place. Now that's some major shadetree engineering. :D

I just try not to take myself too seriously...life's too short to spend time worrying about what other people think.
