If it's about Power Wagons, all generations, this is where it'll go. This is the original PWR Forum Power Wagon Technical Discussion Section. And this includes everything that doesn’t fit in any one of the other categories related to the truck goes here!

Is it too early for you, that you haven't had time to take your meds?! Just messing with you. Great ideas, but aren't we trying to keep things more open and not have different boards to be switching between? I think it's fine if we get BS threads going on this board, that way we can either choose to BS with them, or ignore the thread, but at least we wouldn't have to jump to different boards to do it, like on DT.

Hey!

This is the former Crawler#976 - decided to change my screen name to the moniker of the truck.

This is really a great idea Leif - I'm 100% in on the move. Per your PM, I'll start moving the FAQ's info to a new home once you all decide where they need to be.

Just start a new thread and I'll sticky it. Work on it when you get a chance and if you need help, ask. It's going to take all of us to pull this off!

What does everyone think about a live chat area? First, is it possible in this format. Second, is it something we would use?

I thought I remember seeing that mentioned somewhere in the config. If you all want it and the board will do it, I'll turn it on.

Live chat puts alot of demand on the server so it can tend to drag things down. I do know it will require another application program to do if I remember correctly. All in due time. Not sure if it will have an additional cost or not, but I'm willing to put support towards needed applications if there is a cost. I'm sure there are others that are willing as well.

I like the idea of the move and fully support it. I don't know much about computers, but will help in any way that I can. I'm with you guys, we can actually have a forum that is run and supported by REAL Power Wagon Owners! We won't have to worry about a Snorkel Thread being deleted........

About the move and notification, that's gonna be the kicker. I often wondered if they can access our Pm's to each other? They may already know and are getting prepared......... :( I say once we "secretly" get the word out, I'd ASK if you could post a link, that way they won't completely abolish you and may leave other options open to you. I say at the least, WAIT until you're sure you NEVER need access to the DT site anymore, because they may totally wipe out the PW section, or lock it down so tight we can't get anything from it.

I figure if it's there, I'll turn it on and let's see how things play out. The server is pretty beefy so I don't think that'll be the problem. If there is going to be a problem, it'll be bandwidth. I have 25Mbps downstream (which as the server doesn't help me any) and about 2.5-3Mbps upstream (which is what the issue will be if there is one.)

I've been thinking about switching to something like FiOS where I could get synchronous down/upstream rates. I'll have to look into that and see what the cost difference between my current ISP and that.

The *only* reason I go to DT is the PW forum, so when the time comes to post a link, if I get banned, it won't be a big thing. Me and forum.powerwagonregistry.org aren't going anywhere, and eventually everyone will come here for the Power Wagon Forum. It's just a matter of time. I would hope DT wouldn't begrudge me and this forum too much by turning off the PW forums there, but I guess we'll find out eventually.

Whoo hoo!!! A little late but I am here for the party  I'm not very computer savvy, but I, too will help out in any way I can. Tired of the mods on DT. Don't really care too much if I get banned on there so I'd be comfortable posting an open invite in both the 3G and 4G sections and hopefully it will stay up for some time before the mods delete it. Or I can help do the grassroots thing for a little longer then drop the bombshell :lockedandloaded: Whatever works.

I'll tell you what we need to do is come up with a "post up" date that way we're all on the same page. No post up until then.

I found a good chat module, but I have to see if it's compatible with this version of phpBB. If it's not, we'll wait a bit till it is upgraded and is compatible because its the most feature rich one I've found so far.

I registered today. Not to happy with the DT forum, but appreciated a place to discuss PW info while we were waiting for you to start this forum. Like the idea of a topic or thread for selling PW parts. Also would like to see a topic or thread for people to post ongoing trips with their PWs (pix, etc.), and perhaps be able to get trip planning info from other members.

So let's discuss this one further. Usually when a trip is planned a thread is started to see who else wants to go, planning takes place and then an after trip thing with lots of pics and videos happens. Look at the Moab 2012 thread on DT to get an idea. We restarted that thread here, but since the trip was already done, it's just the pics and vids from the trip. None of the pre-planning. Is that what you were thinking, or specifically a topic area (like off-topic and Power Wagon Talk are topic areas). On DT the PW stuff typically ended up in the PW area rather than going to the trips topic area DT had set up. I'm willing to go either way on it as I'm building this to suit our needs, not Dodge's in general.

Same with the parts selling / truck selling. It could be a sticky thread in the Power Wagon Talk topic area or it could become it's own topic area. You guys tell me.

Welcome by the way!!!
