New Member 1st Power Wagon

Post by TrueBlue13PW » Wed Sep 04, 2013 12:08 am

Hey guys I've been reading some of the post on here the past week or so since I took delivery of my new 2013 PW. My plans for now is to leave it stock unless one of the programer manufactures come up with a way to use the lockers in 4 hi. I know you can do the bypass but would much rather have a programmer solution. Any way it's nice to see all the cool stuff you guys have done to your trucks. Here are a few pics of my new PW. :D BTW She has the tailgate cam and the center high mount stop light cam with led lights.

Welcome and congrats. Can you post a picture of the center stop light cam and what it looks like on the screen? This was an option that became available after I had already ordered my '13 Laramie and I could not get it. Also would you be interested in swapping your headlights for a set of Chrome Laramie units? :D

Thanks I really like it too. If I could change it at all I would like for the blue to be a shade lighter it looks black most of the time. The black stripe does help to give it some contrast.

Here are the pics you requested. The picture on the screen is usually much more clear there is some condensation between the lens and the camera this morning (It dries out pretty quick once you go down the road). The transport some how busted the light cover for the center high mouth stop light. They are trying to get me a replacement light cover but they say there is no part number and not available yet. So they are trying to get a light cover from the manufacturing plant. I guess I fibbed a little I have modded it some already B&W turn over ball and Line X spray in bed liner and Mopar steps.

Welcome to the PWR! That is a very nice Wagon. I really like that color. I'm also really liking that high mount camera. Is there a part number on it anywhere? I'd love to retrofit one onto my truck.

And as other have mentioned, good luck on not modding if you stick around here. I think just about all of us said the same thing when we bought our trucks. I was just going to do a few things here and there. That didn't last long...

Yeah the dealership told me that they are not in the system yet and there was only like 300 trucks made with this option. They are having a very hard time getting just the light cover for it.

Thank you for the welcome I read through your build just the other day your truck has come a long way. One mod I think I will do later on after they get dinged up from rocks flying off the tires is to line X the rockers. I plan on keeping this truck for 10 yrs minimum so stuff like line x on the rockers will help keep it in good shape for the long haul I think. I'm curious to see how the PW will do with my 24' gooseneck. If I feel like it doesn't handle it well enough I'll just go back to using my 2012 with the 6.7 and the G56 :D to pull the gooseneck. I did pull a 16' inclosed trailer the 2nd day I had it and it pulled it very well I didn't feel at any time that it was underpowered or having to work hard at all. Anyway like I said thanks for the welcome It seems like a nice forum to be a part of and hope to enjoy being part of the community for a long time.

So guys the modding may begin already  I plan on pulling my 24' gooseneck with my pw from time to time. The 2013 PW is supposed to be reated 11,070 lbs towing I would like to make sure I'm not hurting my rear springs or truck in any way. So I was looking at some other threads and seen mention of Daystar cradles??? Does Daystar have a whole airbag kit or do you have the buy the cradles from Daystar and have to buy air bags from firestone? Thanks in advance. :)

Welcome and congratulations on the Power Wagon. My Power Wagon is still mechanically stock, so despite what others say...it is possible. Stay strong my friend! :)

I looked at the installation instructions for the Carli setup last night. I'm not super excited about having to drill through my frame. I haven't found the right kit from firestone yet. I would like to compare them with the Daystar cradles to the Carli setup.

Good looking PW! I have never seen a hi mount backup camera like that- its pretty cool and awesome for the gooseneck. If you plan on keeping the truck a long time I second the Line-X on the rockers. I had that done after the first hunting season. After having the rockers coated on my 2004 HD Hemi and now my Power Wagon it's my favorite mod!

I had considered the Carli long travel air bags, but their attachment location is the same area where the brackets for my fifth wheel are located, so it would appear to be a no go.

You know that is probably what I would run into with mine as well I have the B&W turn over ball.
