2025 Thoughts

Post by FordyceCreekTrail » Wed Nov 06, 2024 12:31 pm

Stellantis is clearly in full melt down mode unfortunately. But I am needed to replace my 2018 as it approaches 200K especially as the engine continues to fall apart after numerous exhaust manifold repairs and now a failing lifter can be heard. This roll out of one at Sema with an ugly grill, nerf bars and 20" bling blings has me concerned. Not to mention this roll out is so past due. Instead of all the crap on the Sema version, I was looking for;

1. Engine design flaw fixes
2. Sway bar Disconnect and front locker design flaw fixes
3. 35s on a 17" Rim
4. More Power
5. More pay load and towing
6. Efficiencies if possible
7. Factory sliders
8. Better Bumper designs
9. Better exhaust design

And so on

Granted other things since my 2018 have been resolved such as moving away from the Vat of Lead transmission or going to synthetic line, but still cannot believe it will all be fluff and stickers after such a huge delay.....

Hold on a minute....I found a link to https://www.fleetequipmentmag.com/cummi ... est-drive/ on Pirate 4x4. Could we be getting this and a big part of the delay? They keep mentioning testing cooling systems on the HDs for the delay. 660lb feet of torque! Take my MONEY!

Looks like nothing too exciting changed on the 2500 gassers. The new transmissions on the CTD looks pretty good.

I have the ZF 8 speed transmission in my 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon diesel. The transmission is great. :rockon:

Yeah, my g/f has th ZF in her 2016 BW 650i. That thing shifts amazing. (And it's always fun squealing the tires on 2-3 upshift.)

The CTD actually has a version of the medium duty Powerline.

I would hazard to say this will be by far the best transmission in a pickup. The GM/Internationals 4500/5500 that use the Allison 1700 are probably the only ones close and it's still a 6spd.
