Charlotte, NC Mechanic for 100k Service

Post by rgoode » Tue May 25, 2021 3:01 pm

I'm nearing the 100k mile mark on my 2015 PW. Right now, I just don't have the time to take care of it myself so I'm looking for a shop to take it to.

Does anyone have any recommendations on shops in the Charlotte area that knows their stuff?

Also, while it's there what else should I have done? Obviously the stuff in the manual for the 100k service, but is there anything else I should take care of?

I don't recall there was much on the Ram at 100k? Seemed like it was 120k.

With my Chevy, I did air filter, trans, T'case, engine oil and should have done spark plugs (did them at 110k.) That's my plan for the Ram at 120k. Cabin airfilter I would consider if they have them. As you are over 5 years, may consider coolant and/or brake fluid (I'm not going to do my brake fluid but may do coolant at 6 years/120k miles.)

Axles should be fine unless you ride in deep mud, then you should be changing/checking diff oil.

Compared to my '01 Ram the maintenance on these dedicated coil engines, platinum plugs and synthetic fluids really has made life easier. Both the Chevy and the '16 Ram my main repair has been replacing tires. Unlike diesels we don't have a bunch of fuel filters and emissions systems to work on.

Everything other than plugs is pretty basic and should be able to be handled by any competent oil change shop. Plugs I would just find a decent local mechanic with good ratings.

Here's the full owner's manual pdf

This came straight off of mopars site but it is also tied to my vin, which is a 2010, so I'm sure it'll suffice for all but it'll also lack some of the newer thingy mabobs. //cloud.tapatalk.com/s/60b9989d0ee15/744.pdf
