Transfer case shift knob
Transfer case shift knob
Love my 2019 power wagon, especially the great interior... but either the designers were lazy or the bean counters were stingy, and they’ve kept the same transfer case shift knob they’ve used since the mid 90s.
Fortunately it’s an easy fix since it uses a common M10x1.5 thread. I drew up the shift pattern on the computer, tracing/interpolating the letters and numbers from the tachometer so the front matches. Then I sent the design to [Shift Solutions Co, and they laser engraved it onto this nice stainless knurled knob.

I love it! Fits right in with the rest of the interior now! Added benefit: It has more weight and sits higher so it’s easier to shift!

First 3 photos weren’t meant to be attached and it won’t let me delete them. Good thing it’s nothing personal, but maybe the moderator is able to remove them?

Re: Transfer case shift knob
I'm not normally a fan of shift knobs but that looks great, really fits the interior of the 2019s.

Re: Transfer case shift knob
Just save your original in case you ever have a transfer case warranty issue

Re: Transfer case shift knob
I can’t imagine they would try to reject a warranty claim over a screw on shift knob?!
Anyways here’s a couple better/daylight photos
Re: Transfer case shift knob
Looks nice. But I don't think I've ever given a moments thought to what mine looks like.

Re: Transfer case shift knob
That looks great. Looks like a Toyota FJ knob.
Re: Transfer case shift knob
Very nice. My '01 and my '16 have the same shifter knob which I thought was cool. Now not as much...

I did the same, and replaced it. Agreed -it looks out of place!

Re: Transfer case shift knob
That looks fantastic! Hate to ride on the coattails of greatness, but is there any chance you could upload the file you came up with for the engraving? I love the way that came out and would like to order one myself.
Re: Transfer case shift knob
DM me your email and I’ll email it to you (it’s not a jpeg so I don’t think I can just upload it here)ScubaSteve wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:28 pmThat looks fantastic!
