I have a cheapo generic 12v remote off amazon for my rear winch and it works great. Was like $12

Hope this link works.

Didn't Will end up getting one of these? Somebody did, I think it worked for awhile and then took a dump. Can't quite remember exactly but I want to say they "got what they paid for"

I have the old Warn remote than came with about 6' of cable and mounted the receiver high and behind the airbox, my buddy has the Badlands one on his F150 and it works fine on his. Someone on here did say something about the Badlands but I don't remember it being that it quit.

I think VerdeSARdog has one, or one similar, on his hydraulic winch. Hopefully he jumps in to verify.

Talked to my buddy yesterday, his is some other off brand, I thought it was a Badlands. He said his only works to about 45 feet is his only complaint seems like I remember the Badlands being ok though...

For our winch you need a redundant ground. I had already done that on my winch so it worked fine for me. I did however end up getting the Warn unit (close out Amazon sale) as the range on the harbor freight unit seemed quite short for me (about 30'). I got the older Warn one with a cable and box. The new ones just plug in and are a compact one piece unit on the winch plug.

I have the older Warn unit. Depending on how new the battery is. It will reach out to over 60ft.

I have one.
Did have to add a ground in the control box on the winch, but with the fuckery my truck had, that could have been something the previous owner borked up too.
Once I fixed the ground it works as expected. The wire hanging off the receiver is an antenna, not a ground.

I bought one of the HF badlands wireless remotes hoping it would be a plug and play. Not so. I guess I need to figure out how to add a ground or just bite thee bullet and get the real deal Warn one.

New winch cable, Winch TPS bypass, Cardan joint grease zerk discovery. New front grille assembly. Magnesium Chloride under coating.

If you ever happen to see me running somewhere, you should start running too. :)

On mine, there was a "common" line between one leg of all the relay coils Tied that to frame-ground with a short jumper, everything worked after that.

 So, i need yet another ground ??? I thought i already had the most grounded truck in the history of trucks !!! In addition to the stock grounds, i added the following.

Used 2 gauge welding cable & soldered on the lugs myself. Stripped metal down to bare metal on all points before installation & then soaked all the lugs & contact points with Fluid Film.

From bed to frame
From bed to cab
From cab to frame
From battery to frame
From battery to fender & stock ground point, d-side to frame
From p-side fender to frame

This project will go on the shelf, till weather warms & i find the time. $22 at HF was all it cost me.

If someone could post a pic of exactly where the ground need to come from---that would be great, thanks.

I know this is an old post, but I am wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of where to place the ground.
I seen a post somewhere else that a guy actually had the ground going right to the circuit board of the box. I really don't want to have to do that if I can add a ground somewhere else.

Just get the Warn remote that works, and be done with it.
2018 Flame Red, Moon Roof, Dual Alternators, Ram Boxes sadly Ram ran out of, Luxo Package with 8.4 UConnect, Enter and Go with remote start, Auto Wipers and Lights. Added missing skids and White Knuckle sliders. 35" BFG KM3s. Procal and Warn wireless remote for winch.
