2012 Owners Manual-CALL TO GET YOURS!

Thought I'd share an important item I learned from Chrysler customer service yesterday. I was way overdue in making the phone call to them, but I called to request an owners manual supplement specific to the PW I thought I'd heard was available upon request.

Turns out there is no specific supplement for the PW, but I found out that what I thought was my owners manual is only an abbreviated "Users Guide" and I never received a full owners manual. I always wondered why that User Guide was so general and didn't include any PW specifics. Makes sense now.

Not sure when they quietly stopped providing a full owners manual with Ram trucks. But, now they only provide the full owners manual (once to the original owner) upon request! It's not even that dealers are choosing to hold onto them. They are not delivered with the new truck from the factory. Don't get me started on how much BS that is!

Anyway, PW specific features/functions ARE covered in the full owners manual. Customer service said I'd have mine by UPS ground in 3-5 work days. Will keep you posted. I look forward to getting it.

Posted this over on DT as well and myoung nicely pointed out the full manual is available for download on the owners site. No idea how I missed it before, but the link is right in there sure enough. Got it saved now.

Still looking forward to the hard copy from Chrysler too though.

Ya, I got the full manual on CD ROM, which is pointless most times. I either end up printing parts off or taking the laptop out to the garage. VERY annoying. I think I will have to call Chrysler to request a hard copy.

Sounds like Chrysler is doing this across the board then. Really unacceptable if you think about it, and especially for any 4WD vehicle. Let alone for one of the most specialized off road specific vehicles on the planet.

Wish the newer trucks had a nice PW only manual like the pic of the 2005 posted above. Of course that's back when Chrysler was trying to keep PW's a bit more special with the sequential numbering, etc.

Note I was able to get the full manual downloaded from the Ram owners site once Chrysler corrected my info on file to show me correctly as the original owner. Still looking forward to having the hardcopy too though.

I was pissed that i had to order a manual too. The CD is a ridiculous idea. This is what you get after you call and order the owner's manual. They are totally cutting corners.

Yep...that's it. All 700 some pages worth. At least it explains in detail what every owner needs to know.

I know it covers the 1500-3500 but still doesn't need to be so long. There is so much repetition in it. Oh well.

Hopefully mine shows up next few days.
