Hoodies or a waterproof pullover?

Post by AceMan » Tue Oct 09, 2012 7:15 pm

I haven't finalized the design, yet. But I'm close. I've just been super busy lately, and losing Shadow so suddenly was a big blow.

I don't have pics of a waterproof garment, but how's this zipper, thermal pullover hoodie? It's a SUPER heavy duty 20.5 ounce material. My previous hoodie was 11 ounce, for comparison, for those who already have one. So you can see it's a lot heavier and definitely warmer.

And whatever design I'm finalizing on, will be embroidered, and NOT screened. Possible price may be $60 or $65 plus shipping. And that's only because the base price of these hoodies are obviously more.

These are zippered. I believe there is a pullover version, but he didn't have one in the showroom to see.

And if Pit Slave and Mike have a free afternoon, I want to bring you guys over t the place to show you the other garments to choose from. I like to offer something different if no one likes these, but just need a different opinion.

I'd probably be in for either style. Just let us know what you decide so I know how much $ to send you.

The shirts will have the same artwork but will be screened, not embroidered. I may offer a sport polo, the Nike wicking type, light material, etc, but that's more for the late Spring, Summer. I have a demo polo like that, but it says NovaCare on it (a physical rehab place in the Philly area), from one of their shirt runs. It feels light and fits nicely.

I talked to him about the waterproof ones, and I have to dig in the catalog. I'm really not sure what will appeal to everyone. I was thinking one of those Columbia water-resistant jackets. They are not insulated, at least not the one I saw hanging in the showroom. He said they carry the insulated type. I was looking for more of the Gortex or Tech-2 stuff, which is waterproof and insulated.

But the Gortex are extremely expensive, such as a two-piece LLBean that I have that is insulated to 45-50 below and cost around $300. The Tech-2 (LLBean's version of Gortex) is about third of the price. But even still, how do I keep the price down on something like that, even if it were $100 or more?

I have to talk to the guy again. I am looking for something that is functional, and that will really look nice, and affordable. And same with the artwork, it has to look professional.

I'm thinking of just sticking with Leif's logo in white embroidered on a jacket without the WinchMob logo.

As for the Harley thing, I am leery on doing it, and the owner told me that they can get in trouble for making them if they got out in public and traced back. So I have to be careful on copyright infringement. They do major work for Comcast, Pepsi, Philly Eagles, etc. They are a major printer for Snuggies, too. Any Snuggies you see with screened are or logo, or embroidered came from them. So I have to be careful for their sake as well as mine!

Friggin challenges! LOL!

And did you know that Chrysler threatened to sue a high school in Florida that was using the Ram head for their "Rams" sports team mascot? They had to tear up the basketball court wooden floor to get the Ram head off it, change all the signs, including the big one in front of the school, etc. I guess the school didn't do their homework when they decided to copy the logo off a truck.

And what's reasonable for a waterproof version?

And would you like it insulated?

Thoughts?

I'm not sure of the actual pricing. And it depends on size. The Ash City is a 2XL example, and the smaller sizes are less money. I think I saw a 3XL for 185.

Or is this way out of our price range?

Sorry everyone for not getting this together sooner. I've been super busy, lots of hours, including weekends. Matter fact the next three weeks um working from 9 am to 10 pm Mon to Thursday and Fri days. No telling what the weekend brings. I will be dropping the Harley artwork, only because if copyright. The art work will be embroidered on the jacket with Leif's PWR with WinchMob under it in a cool font and the PWR URL under that, with HEMI on the collar, and for t-shirts HEMI will be on the sleeve.
