Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Just reading this thread now. Beautiful build!
I wish I had video recording of the spot where you may have hit where the track bar got damaged.
I installed a new BlackVue front and rear camera system, but it only came with an 8GB SD card, which was only enough to store 2 hours of video. I kind of was upset after I saw that. With all of the awesome wheeling we did, I would have loved to have gone through the footage too pick out the better moments. I had ordered the 256 GB card but it wasn't expected to arrive until next week so I lost a lot of possible video.
I see where your antenna is about it, which looks good.
Nice job man! Love your truck!

Thuren Trackbar 2.0. This time set to 39-3/8" eye-to-eye. I used a crows foot with torque wrench to torque the jam nut. It is definitely torqued to 200 ft lbs.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Also my rear dome LED from HR (GTR) brand developed an intermittent flashing a few weeks ago. I remembered I had a spare because I bought the set piecemeal. Installed the spare...flashing gone. This tells me that the LED was failing. From my experience, typically the number 1 enemy of LEDs is heat. Usually, from poor heat sinks or lack thereof. Now, this particular LED has a pretty substantial heat sink across the entire back of it, so I don't know what gives. I really expected to last much longer than an incandescent bulb for the $$$. Perhaps mfg defect.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Ok. Finally got my truck back, but I think it will be worth it. Once you have 37s you can't go back. So, I'm going to do this in reverse of what I wanted to. I will show you the outcome of the changes first from pictures taken by the shop during the work. It is raining cats and dogs today so hopefully detail pictures from underneath the beast tomorrow. First, these are the RTI measurements / score:. 82” up ramp
149” wheelbase
RTI score 550. Take a look at the pics to follow. These guys eluded to the fact if I was aired down to 20 psi I might have been able to overrun the ramp without lifting a tire.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Here are the pics. Note last pic shows wheel slightly toward back of fender opening (to left). Figure under torque it will shift forward a bit (to right). So, good it was skewed to the rear.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
I will try to do my best tomorrow to take pics and explain the mod. It is important to know there was a bit more devil in the details. Plates welded to the axle spring perches to enable the axle to move back. Upscaled ( thicker) u-bolts. Wedges put in etc, etc, etc to help offset axle wrap. Apparently, our springs have 3 locating pins vs 1 on most trucks. This had to be taken into account

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Top side of springs. Note u-bolts wedges. Also, note where axle sits in relation to the top plate looking down. It is 1.5" to the rear (left).

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Inside view. Note angle of the heavier duty U-bolts. The wedges can be seen clearly. This helps with the u-bolt angle. Note square piece of tube welded in to stabilize the lift block. Also note the 3/8" plate at the bottom that enables the axle to be located aft. This plate also gives a little more lift and has holes cut in it to accept the 3 locating pins.

Rear view. You can see the square tube cut into a block and welded in place to stabilize the set up.

Here's a pic of the tire at ride height. Notice it is skewed toward the rear of the fender opening (right)

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
It looks like on top of that skid plate would be a good place to mount something like an air tank or other accessory that wouldn't be affected by exhaust heat (if there's room).

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
Thanks guys. Wheels turning now...in my head that is. Would be a sweet spot for an air tank. It would be an easy run from my compressor. I would like to put remote air connections at the front and rear of the truck, too.

Re: SimonandSimonBeast Build
A couple things to note on the early 4th gens (mine is 2013). The AEV instructions must be geared to late 4th gens. The plastic faring where the new intake exits through to the fender area has to be cut clean through to the rear side of it vs just being opened more. Right about the same area I had to cut a 1"×4" piece out of the plastic airbox mounting bracket to clear the tube where it curves back. Also, removing/disconnect the PCM and ground wire were not necessary on my truck.
