Impressive. Looks familiar. You're truck's twin is here in PA minus the sweet bumper. Nice job. I lucked out with none of my bolts seized, but def know the challenge from prior rigs. BTW I was able to sneak in the new Thuren springs without a compressor. I had to pull my 3 ton jack out from under the center, use it to push up on one knuckle, install spring on opposite side and then vice versa. I did this with OE swaybar links removed. When you push up on one side you can get the other side to dip plenty further. This is exactly why these solid axle trucks are better at keeping the wheels on the ground, especially when the swaybar is disconnected.

I drove around with no sway bar drop links for 2 months and it was so smooth. I had to put the links on for a highway trip this weekend.

Better (and much cheaper) yet, get Able Components (David) locker/swaybar bypass kit. Plug-n-play.

truth be told, understandable statement... i have an air release and while i typically switch it off for slow going anywhere, i need my factory sway bar for throwing the truck around on the road.

anyone can benefit from 3.0 kings though....they serve a different purpose(boogie-rated)

With all this time at home I finally finished my bumper. Added stiffeners and finished the wheel well corners along with drilling mounting holes. Still haven’t got pictures fully mounted. Tubing is in the garage for the rock sliders. California is under a stay at home order so I’ll be working on my truck quite a bit.

Looking good.
I know what you mean about the spare time. I’m just about done with home projects then I can start on the truck stuff.
Enjoy shelter at home. 😀

Synthetic line or steel cable? The cable that came on the truck needed to be replaced what are thoughts?

I sill have steel cable, but think quite a few have switched to synthetic but not certain of best synthetic brands, strength, etc. Believe main advantage is weight & possibly more length. Others can advise better

Nice build you have going sir! I may have missed it, but what are you planning on using the winch for? On my truck and other vehicles I use for working I stay with wire rope because it’s more tolerant of abrasion and heavy use, on vehicles that are more off-road fun oriented I use synthetic because it’s light and strong and if I’m using it to get unstuck or to unstick someone else I’m more likely to be pulling in less than ideal conditions or angles etc. and synthetic is way less likely to kill or injure anyone if something goes sideways.

Good looking truck. I actually grew up just north of Paso and went to high school there. Mine is due for tires. How do you like 37s? I was planning on 35s since I tow a camper.

Threw in some Synergy HD ball joints apparently the owner before me got into some water so I changed the front diff fluid too. It pays to have a nice ball joint press. Those things were frozen in from the years in the snow. I’m glad to give her a nice life in California. While everything was apart I took a wire wheel to much of the parts and then prime and painted them.

Very clean. Love how everything is painted up. So many people just leave it all rusted up under there.

Synergy MFG long arms. These things are amazing. Correcting angles all over. The first picture is stock the rest are of the long arms. All photos are at full droop. The ride quality is better than stock. Image

Awesome build! Would love to see the finished sliders. Looks like you got them mounted in the long arm pic.
How do you like the fox shock/ thuren combo? I'm torn on the overlands vs fox
