Did more work on the truck today.

1st pic. Got lots of suspension travel in the front.

2nd pic. Measuring for limit straps to keep the front springs from falling out. My 14.5' Carli straps are too short. Need around 16" straps.

3rd pic. Replaced the rear brake line with a 4" longer stainless brake hose. And added spacers to my air bags to keep them from pulling apart. The rear suspension has lots"of suspension travel too. Enough that my rear drive shaft hits the rear cross member.

4th pic. The PITA braKe line to brake hose junction. Sprayed the chit out of it with Blaster. The line wrench started to round off the flare nut. Got my small pipe wrench out, and worried that nut loose. Took me a while, but I got it. Got great brake pedal now.

Did you ever consider the Daystar cradles so the bags are only attached to the frame?

When I got the Carli long travel air bags. The Daystar cradles wasn't out yet. Those were another 4 or 5 yrs down the road before they came out with them. The only other option was the standard short travel Firestone air bags at that time.

Talked to Don about limit straps with the King shocks. He said they are not needed with my set-up. Asked about topping out the shock and damaging it. He said not to worry about that. The shocks are built to handle it. The only reason for a limit strap was if the springs came loose during full extension. And I'm almost there. So no limit straps for now.

Just turned over 100,000 miles today.
Major issues to date.
1. Power steering box. That when out on my first trip to Moab.
2. Clock spring in the steering column. That was on my second trip to Moab.
3. Idle pulleys. They don't like deep water. They normally start making noises about 2 weeks afterwards. I'm on my 3rd set.
4. Driver's seat. Have 2 holes worn through the outer edge from climbing in and out.
5. Tail gate has rust holes on the bottom edge of it. From hauling rocks. They chipped the paint down to bare metal over a period of time.
6. Rear main seal. Just changed that last month. Thank god for the lifetime power train warranty. They had to move the tranny/transfer case back away from the rear of the engine to get to the seal.

Other then that. It's been a good truck.

It's good. Had no issues with it. You'll notice the difference with it. Wish I had done it sooner.

An end of a era has come. Today with a heavy heart I said good bye to Red. I traded Red in for a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Diesel. Red has a major case of rust cancer under the cab. To get it fixed would has cost some $$$$ and no guaranty that they could get it all. Surprised that it lasted this long. I thought that I would be buried in it. Red took me places that I was scared to walk. It never let me down. I'll miss Red.

Some of the things from Red I took off for sale.

King shocks.

Rock Crusher diff covers

Locker by pass that was never install

1G Warn winch remote

Centerline forged rims. 17x9, 5" BS
