Great photos and write-up.

I would have thought the gas mileage increase would have been more.

I recently installed a G4 Elite Fold-A-Cover for the bed. http://www.foldacover.com/
This is an excellent piece of hardware. It has decreased road noise and increased gas mileage as well. :)
Since the Rambox was not an option with orange in 2012, this folding cover has more than made up the difference for being able to secure the bed!
This cover includes the optional tool box with the internal folding compartment.
I can no longer upload pictures here <?> so here's a sampling from Photobucket.

I actually got 60,000 miles out of my 'factory' BFG ATs.
I just switched over to the Les Schwab brand of Toyo highway tread tire. This truck doesn't get off road much, since my old CJ5 handles that chore very well. The PW did demonstrate death wobble at 45,000 miles; total freak out & bummer. It was just a bump in the road that threw it into this condition. The dealer wanted to replace just about every moving part on the suspension. I passed, but recently swapped out the shocks and track bar to the Thuren brand. I'm satisfied with these upgrades. I have a Thuren steering stabilizer on order.
The truck is doing well and pleased it can still get 16 MPG for most of its driving.
Take Care all & Stay Well!
