Thanks guys! I'm definitely falling in love with Line X the more stuff I have coated in it. I also had them coat a skid plate and a few other small things on my 400ex and it has held up great to bashing and dragging it through tire sized rocks and knee deep ruts. Should be getting the safety latch on in a couple days, painting it to match so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the idea 04Ram. I just got off the phone with Diamondback and got the prices for everything I was wanting and it may be quite a while before I get one. Prices are $1699 for the Line X'd Cover, $299 for a cross bin toolbox (goes across the front of the truck bed like a normal toolbox), $499 for the atv ramps, $149 for the side rails/bar and $349 for the extension deck to load 2 quads sideways on a short bed. He told me it was slightly cheaper to get it in a package, so it was $3038 for everything shipped :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: It was $3149 priced individually so not much of a "deal" if you ask me. That is insane for a tonneau cover, it is a good one, but it's just a bit too much.

Omg but that cover will outlast your truck for that price

I watched the forums and Craig's list for 3 years but finally picked up a used but undamaged Diamondback cover for $500 plus a trip to Yuma AZ from Tucson to pick it up. That Diamondback cover is awesome though. I had the undercover bed cover before this but had issues with it staying latched and it moved around way too much when romping on fire roads. Sold that cover for $350 on Craig's list.

The undercover unit looked much nicer IMHO and was far lighter and easier to remove but front bed access and the shifting around when off road as well as the one time it came unlatched (was not locked just latched) made it so I felt that I needed something a little more sturdy. I really like the undercover one much better but function and utility is what I really needed and not ease of removal plus good looks.

I had to re-glue portions of the seal but all in all it was in great shape. It was however very dirty though as it was stored leaning against his house for over a year. Recycling is great IMHO!

Yea, it will definitely be worth the price, just going to take awhile longer then I had originally thought before I get one. Got 63 hours of work this week so I should be sitting on a pretty hefty paycheck with 23 hours of it being $32/hour

Haven't had a chance to get on here lately. But last weekend I did the 16k maintenance on mine. Changed the oil with a Royal Purple filter and 7 qts. of HPS full synthetic. I've always used Royal Purple in my most used vehicle, I feel it's worth the extra coin. Also blew out my air filter, greased the front driveshaft and rotated the tires. And while I had the tires off I decided to see what the stock rims and caps would look like black so I coated them with Plasti Dip. I don't know if you guys have seen this stuff but it's a spray on rubber coating that you can peel off later, but it's also very durable when sprayed on thick. I don't think it looks too bad, a few of my friends thought it was too much black. I could take it leave it, I don't think the stock rims look the greatest painted black. I got my safety latches back on my winch hook and monster hook also, I painted them reed instead of black, I think they look much better. Right now I have it in the shop trying to install a Flowmaster scavenger Y pipe, but it's being a PITA and not going on. The factory pipes that go in to the factory collector sit too far apart for the Y pipe I got and I can't get them squeezed close enough together to where they will go in it. So now I'm trying to figure out what I should do. Anyway that's what I've been up to, that and working. Here's some pics of everything.

Yea, that's what I was thinking also, chrome caps with black everything else would look pretty balanced. And I figured I'm going to have to take it to the local exhaust shop to get the Y pipe installed and done cleanly. For now I have a pair of turn down tips on the 2 individual pipes right after the cats, and it is FREAKIN' LOUD! Sounds like a stock car or a monster truck once I get up to the 3-5k range. It makes me smile, but I'm not driving it more than I have to because it's not legal, and I don't want a ticket. Too bad.... :)

Took it to the local exhaust shop and had them install my Y pipe this morning. Took him about an hour and a half and did a very clean job of it for only $50. He ended up cutting more of the 3" pipe off that goes into the muffler and then welding the Y pipe and the other short sections of tubing from the down tubes together. Did a very good job welding them while it was on there too, not a single leak and they look damn good. Didn't know how he would do it since there isn't much room to move the welder around under there. Very happy with it, I'll snap some pics later. It seems a lot quieter also, don't know if it's because I haven't heard it for awhile or what but it's a lot better than open headers.

Pics, only thing that kind of looks odd is the passenger side pipe, but it's bent like that because of the way the stock pipe is bent to go into the factory collector, The Flowmaster Scavenger wasn't adjustable from where he had it so it has a weird bend to it to get in the scavenger at the right angle.

Thanks! It's slowly getting there. I think I'm just going to do a few more smaller mods before I get something expensive. I just drained my savings on a couple huge bills.

These trucks are never 100% done, there's always something. That being said, your truck has come a long way. I think the black wheels are a nice touch. I'm still waiting to see what AEV releases to see if I go that direction with wheels, but I'm with you in the slowly but surely route with my truck.

Man, I just saw the post on the lights, I feel terrible. I hate selling something and then it breaking. I know they worked when removed because I did test them, just horrible timing I guess. What ever came of this? Anything I can do to help?

They did look bad ass though!

Think of it as your buddy that always gets you in trouble but you still hang out with them anyway. We all have that one friend (or we used to) that always got us into trouble even though we knew it was a bad idea. It's kind of the same thing here. We tell you way's to spend your money even it it's a mod you're not 100% sure you need. I'm still not 100% convinced myself that I need Thuren Control Arms and 35" tires, but I have a hunch by next Spring I'll have them anyways. Hell- I never even knew about half the mods I have until I joined either here or on Dodgetalk!
