05 PW upgrades!!

Ok the next day I had a DR appointment and took the PW and made it about 30 minutes down the road when dash light came on to check gauges, noticed the voltage was a zero then the temp was sky rocketed!!! Shit shut down and coast to side of road. The bottom pulley just came apart and then new belt was shredded and got wrapped around the fan and other pulleys. I am pretty pissed off by now and don't even want to call the wife since she hates my truck and I have spent a ton of cash on it lately. Go to dodge and spend another small fortune on more parts.

Shit happens! I have bad luck usually any ways. Well sitting off shore at work on the Internet and got a wild hair up my ass and ordered a set of White knuckle .188 DOM rock sliders. Was gonna make a set but got lazy. Figure I would use them a while and then build new ones next year when I build my flatbed setup. Now I will have to pull my Amp Research steps off and sell them. The wife and kids will hate climbing in it for sure now!

I have a set of White Knuckle sliders. They make it quite easy to climb in and out. You and your family should like them. They are also quite stout. I've bashed them off a few rocks with no issues. They are pretty easy to mount, too!

I told John more PW owners would be ordering them! Let him know you are one of us (PWR guys). He is super-nice and likes feedback.

I heard from my engine builder that those Valve springs were a defect from the factory. They have upgraded them to better ones. This is the first I have actually seen (a picture of) of one actually breaking. Post some pictures of the new sliders when you get them mounted. Glad you didnt get pissed of and sell the truck:)

The wife was pushing me hard to sell it or trade it in but it survived. I bought her another SUV so now we have three rigs so I can beat on the Power Wagon a little harder (tricky tricky buy her a new vehicle and frees the PW up for play!) win win lol. Yeah I need to replace all of them but if I do that I want to install a cam also.

Well got back in from offshore and got my DOR diff covers installed, everything cleaned and expected. Fill up with Amsoil gear oil. Looking good. Gonna try to get my Airflow snorkel installed tomorrow maybe. And the Tuesday pull off my Amp Research steps ( gonna miss them) to make room for the rock sliders.

Well got my snorkel on today!! Wasn't too bad except that black mastic they said to use instead of silicon. It got everything covered with that crap.

Drive the truck to town today. Should have seen all the double takes, stairs, and rubber necking. Had 9 different people ask what is that on your truck? I said a snorkel. Blank stare and then what????? Lol

Hey gunboat are you running your stock driveshafts or have you replaced them. I'm sure I read you had them redone but that was a lot of posts ago and it may have been someone else's thanks.

Hey 05. I am running a stock front driveshaft (because it is BALLZ tough). But the rear I shortened up and ran a 3 1/4" ID 3 3/4" OD .240 wall DOM tube, because the rear stock DS is a POS... Now I can land on a rock and have the ENTIRE weight of the truck on the shaft, and it wont even think about breaking. Here is what happens to a cheap ass stock rear shaft that just barely kissed a boulder under half throttle. I honestly dont know why Dodge ran a stock shaft with .040 thick tube

If you want to make a bullet proof shaft using the stock yokes etc. We can make you one as I have some left over tube to build a few. They are a bitch to balance, but I figured out a perfect way to have a self balancing shaft

We put a half ounce of steel BB pellets inside the shaft before we welded it up, IT WORKS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily I haven't had a problem with mine but it is on my to do list ( damn that list keeps growing). Yeah I want it to just be able to land on a rock with no problem. Haven't been beating it up real bad yet until I get some bumpers and sliders lol. Doing some light wheeling this weekend.
