Lee, I thought about you hitting that ditch Saturday night, I hit one myself. Was in a place I'd never been before and crossed a deep wash out going in rather slow. On the way out, I crossed one and thought it was the bad one so I picked up some speed. I looked up ahead and was thinking oh shit, was too close to stop, and didn't think it was the bad one so I hit the gas to hopefully get going fast enough to go over it. That was a bad move on my part, it was the bad one. BAM! It hit so hard that the rubber piece in the bottom of the intent on the top of the dash popped out and was in the floor and the rear driver seat was flipped in the up position! I pictured the worst, bent axle, busted rims, something. Got out and looked everything over and it's all good. I've been checking and it drives fine, nothing looks out of place. Tires dont have bulges in the sidewalls or anything, tracks straight on the hwy I got lucky! I'm definitely going to have to get some taller coils to get some more up travel clearance, if it weren't for the boogies and Kings, that would have broken some shit.

see man you need a truss!!!! I strongly urge you to get one and have it installed you won't miss the ground clearance truss me <<< lol

Good ball joints and a truss and that dash piece pops out all the time in my truck lol well only on really big air outs with the new Thuren tuned kings in there she hasn't popped out yet!!

And I can carry a pretty decent speed over some pretty nasty hits! http://youtu.be/8tAsn0Az2FM

I think it's too late...I didn't see anything obvious but now I see the passenger front has a negative camber now... Image

get under there and check out the plug welds probably four make sure none have moved or are visiblely out of the housing... Also check to see if any oil
Has made it's way out there yet... Better send it to Carli suspension! They can actually straighten it and truss it afterwards.... There is an article on dtx on how to straighten it looks alittle bananas but fuck it's worked on one or two trucks- involved large jacks a lot of steel and a lot of chain- THEY DO have a CERTAIN amount of camber tho so don't be too freaked out you may actually just have a ball joint out buddy!!

I'll take a closer look and do some measuring soon, maybe this weekend, freaking working and building a house has it hard to find time to even change my oil right now. And the one time I decided to take a break... :( I have no gear oil leaking, axle tubes look OK but haven't truly measured yet. I have less than 9000 miles on new Dynatracks, it doesn't drive like a ball joint exploded. It really looks like the camber came from the C yokes and not the axle just eyeballing it. I guess it's possible the upper and lower arms bent a little. The steering does feel a little tighter now, it tracks fine on the road though. If it'll just hang together little longer, all this will be upgraded.

What's the difference between Carli and Artec trusses? Other than one cost twice as much as the other?

The difference is - get a thuren truss lol. But seriously, artec isn't that substantial and Carli is substantial but robs too much ground clearance. Thuren tube truss is by far the strongest and lowest profiled truss you can do. I've bent and broken a Carli trussed axle and an almost identical hit a plated in Thuren truss laughed off.

Oh man i hope i did not do the same thing Will. Mine was not a ditch just a big speed bump. I don't think that it did not do any damage. No dash parts came up but a rear seat did come up about half way. No obvious bending, fluids or negative camber that i can tell. Truck does not seem to pull or anything.
On a farm field dirt road in strawberry fields. Moving along pretty good and did not see the sped bump until last second. Hope the kings and Thuren parts took it well. I feel like such a dumb ass bc I do have a Thuren truss but have not had it installed. Ran out of money will the shocks and other parts..

Take a pic from the front will and compare. Lol also spin your wheel. You just did wheel bearings to right? I dunno kens truck saw a lot of shit before it came apart totally but still...

Deffinatly a Thuren truss it's cheap and the design is better it's a pain to put on compared to Carli one BUT it is strong and less complex- steel is strong in tension and that's thurens design the tube is loaded from one knuckle to the diff then pre loaded to the pass knuckle so the tube is in tension constantly pulling downward to keep any stresses from pushing up. For 350$ plus the install (patton fabrication is where I would go for sure to have it done) which is like 400$ I think? Well worth it then your front end will be pretty Boogie proof will lol

On a side note: my rear atlas leafs move the axle alittle further back than factory about 1/2" so my rear boogies have been taking a shit kicking on there back side (they are as far back as they can go currently) and one has started to split possibly from when I hit that ditch lol it hasn't split a lot just a bit tho.... So I will be making a plate for them to better distribute load like the fronts have.

It's bent on both sides, not leaking, no visible signs where the tubes meet the housing but I jacked the tires up and spun them and its obvious. Axles are rubbing the tubes and the wheels are harder to turn than usual...
