Lol ya man you should have seen when I out Carli arms in!! Hahaha they were so twisted from the welding of the brackets I had to smash them with a sledge to open them up. To fit the Johnny joints. Felt great doing that to my brand new 3000$ arms. They usually make them crazy tight because unlike the factory softer stuff they will really want to move around after a few thousand of rough terrain! It's a royal pain tho you may notice the rears are hrs to get into the shock mounting tabs because of the rancho shocks you had in there also! They usually collapse the axle tabs to much with cheap shocks so you may have to "persuade" them also with a hammer to open them up. Bit! I would also recommend listening to AZ and if you have the $$$ brand a nitrogen bottle a small tank will last you literally yours if you disconnect it properly etc and make servicing your own shocks a breeze plus you can experiement with nitro pressures as you get used to them! Know what I'm sayin?! You'll also need a "no leak"
Schrader/ strut gauge to fill them accurately! If not use some shop air pressure to try and get them pumped up enough for street use untill you can get nitro in them!!

Is the hose supposed to point towards the front or toward the engine?

I only do what the majority of the 4 voices in my head tell me to. In most cases, I ignore two of them because one doesn't speak English, and I suspect the other is talking to someone else.

Remember mine is a 3G but here is how mine was orientated. Just scroll down a bit to the photos.

I had an issue with the OEM air box and the height of the shock but got around it by using the AirAid and their dry filter.

Hell yeah, I was getting pissed to start with but as soon as I decided to take the powder coat off and got past the front driver, the rest was easy. The towers would only allow me to mount with the hose towards the engine, I might try to turn the 45 a little on the passenger side, the hose is tight on the valve cover. I did have to trim the air box a little. I'll patch it another day or get a different CAI.

Yea I rotated my fitting and had no loss of oil because I used three wrenches and the wife to hold the AN fitting in the shock. While I finessed the rest into place. The drivers side just plain sucks that's for sure LOL.

You will notice 80% of your axle wrap is gone too!

ya you need to turn it so the resi hose comes directly out front. The way your shock is in this pic it won't cycle without binding cause your shocks facing wrong direction! Should pivot forward and back word!

I thought that but couldn't get the driver side that way and that was the first one. Dammit, I won't be able to turn them until next weekend. I'll have to stay calm until then.

Then again, it has a Jonny joint in the top so why would it matter? I was able to get it in the tower fully extended and I put the tower on the passenger side first, it pivoted fine to bolt up. I don't think that's an issue...

It shouldn't be too hard to turn. Just leave the shock tower attached to the shock and using body weight and a helper you should be able to do it from the top and have someone in the wheel well catch the nuts

After I thought about it, I don't see why I need to turn them, the shock has pivot in the joint. With the tower bolted to it, you can swivel the tower 360 degrees.

I'm not sure it matters too much either. Since that joint pivots in 2 directions anyway as the axle cycles. Forward back and left right. Should be ok

They would be a few degrees off if you did turn them, would not be perfectly perpendicular to the axle anyway.

No idea on Thuren shock towers but Carlis go straight ahead and I've seen dons older towers go forward probably right it may not matter.

Not much of a review yet but on the normal route to work this morning I noticed a great improvement in areas that I've always disliked. Side to side body roll is virtually nonexistent now, even with the swaybar manually disconnected, it will probably get removed all together now... Taking off hard has no rear end squat or front end rise. When hitting second on hard throttle, it's nice, quick and smooth, before it felt like it wanted to buck just a little. Handles curves like a sports car and feels like the truck is half the weight it was, very nimble and controlled. I can easily feel the contour of the road but anything over the height of a reflector is unnoticed. There's a particular man hole that's recessed in a curve that I normally avoid because it will shift the trucks track when hit, kind of like coming loose on washboard for a second, I only heard it hit and the truck keeping tracking like I didn't hit anything. I rolled off of a curb and it was nice and plush and settled immediately. No more bouncing. So far, I'm very pleased and haven't even gone off road yet! :D

Took my lunch break and hit one of the forest trails close by. The truck is not fast enough now  This thing is glued to the dirt, hard to even get the ass end loose in the corners. The faster you go, the better it likes it.
