Well after some agonizing pain its in! Had a bunch of issues. Cam bolts wouldn't come out of the bushings. Had to cut them off. Sent a fellow to the city to pick some up a hair before closing time. And they gave him the wrong ones. So had to improvise and make my own. Couldnt get them outta the old axle either. Im glad pure sends a bolt for the top frame. Had to cut that one on the exhaust. Ended up cutting a couple arms in half to make it im easier to get out. But all said and done everything is good. Need to buy the cam bolts but think im goin to get the new ones installed when i get the alignment done on Friday. For now only one cam is installed per side so.... Hoping it will last.

First impressions holy cow are the arms heavy. Very heavy. But solid. Bushings are way thicker and stronger than stock. No binding that i can tell. I won't be pushing the truck too hard untill next week. Carli bar is in too.

Took it for a drive. No more clunk!! It drives solid. The suspension seems to work more than before on the big bumps. So far im happy. I think i got my truck back and its time to move forward. Here some pics

Well everything is holdin up good. Fri getting the tierod recall done. And they are supposed to an alignment. Sat taking wife and kids to the Calgary zoo which is about a 7-8 hr drive for me. Gonna make it a day trip. Last weekend before school and all. Will give me some good seat time. So what next... Locker wiring!! I keep putting it off. Maybe thurs or fri. Anybody have experience with the Carlisle sway bar? I'm on my second pw smart bar. Currently non functioning. I stripped the sliding collar splines. Will take some pics later. Ideas? The jeep guys got a rotary knob that bolts on. Ideas?

I thought there was a thread on pwr somewhere that has the product that installs on the smart bar and the solenoid actuator is removed it's a rotory knob like you mentioned. Carlisle swaybar? Is this a replacement for the factory p.wagon smartbar or did you mean Carli? I would just run no swaybar like most of the diesel guys do. Only reason I run mine is because it still works and my locks use it to function. What lockers are you using? Factory 10.5 locker And the factory locker for the 9.25?

I run no sway bar, and I am fine. Granted its obviously a lil more leany or whatever, I drive like a human, and even in emergency situations where I made a defensive move I was fine. Its at least worth a try. I took mine off because of fitment issues and decided after driving my normal commute to keep it off. I have taken it into some hard corners and pushed it like a sob too, others who aren't used to it are a wee bit cautious at first but after a few mins its forgotten about. If you know your vehicle, which we all do, and its limits youre fine. And yes I tow, aside from a super tall load/camper in the bed I cant imagine it feeling any different. To each their own tho. Ive made it 95k and haven't rolled

Would make for a much smoother ride also. You have Carli 7100's in that rig don't you? The stiffer valving will really help with swY also

Good ideas. Tomorrow i will unhook one side of the bar and drive my normal route. See how it holds up. If there is issues ill just rehook. Im not a fan if no sway bar but ill give it a shot

I wasn't either, but you might be surprised. Then again each situation is specific, so your results may be different.

Let us know how it goes. To answer your original question about the Carli swaybar they are pretty bad ass. I have heard a lot of good things about Thurens bar too. Both good choices if you "must have" one. Just be sure your steering box brace will work with them.

Here is the link to the rotary knob thingy:

Hardwire the lockers, install this, no more problems. However, I would figure out why you are stripping the splines first.

I was looking at that as an option. I was taking with George at 8lug and it may be just due to the extra weight over the front end putting more stress on the system vs the hemi.

That's odd about the weight difference causing an issue...

Something else is most likely going on. The diesel is only like 650 lbs heavier, which is alot but im sure the bar is engineered to withstand forces beyond what a 650lb difference would make. Thats speculated tho as im no engineer but maybe they were siezed internally and wouldn't fully release I know nothing about the smart bar, seems like a headache for most people. I second the aforementioned opinion on hardwired lockers and a different sway configuration. Less headaches for you long term

Deffinately when mine goes I'll be tossing it and hardwiring. I wish there was a way to over write it like the rubicons can do with a programmer so the bar stays unlocked at higher speeds because that would be trick!

Driving with the bar unhooked made no diff in ride as far as I can tell but it defiantly leans more. I'm going to play around with it some more

Some free time at work. Doesn't quite flex as well as the pw did. But it'll go over stuff
