Love that truck! You convinced me and I think I'm going to go with the Goodyear MTR kevlars 40" tires. Hopefully they will fit with minimal clearance issues lol!!!!!!! Keep the info and pics coming. Someday I will have a custom bed, cage, RTT, shower, ARB cooler and such on my truck.

Thanks fellas... I am getting excited to see my truck again next week for the King of the Hammers.. I have missed tinkering and driving that rig.. 05, I am telling you, you will not regret the MTR Kevlars.... I did that whole cross country trip (Alpine Loop, Colorado, pikes peak, Every trail in Moab, The ENTIRE Rubicon trail, Fordyce Creek, and a few others, LOADED DOWN WITH GEAR<<<< WITH 0 flats,,,, I even carried 2 spares, and didnt even have the need for them.... TOughest tires I have ever owned!!!!!! And I think I have owned every freaking tires ever made from my youth wheeling From Swampers to Mickey Thompson, to Coopers, michelins, to BFG's to you name it,,,,Ihave wheeled them... And I will be putting another set on the rig when I am done with the Baja... I will be going with another set of 42" MTR Kevlars....

42" sweet! What are you gonna do with your 40" ones? I sure would like to try to fit 40's on mine but hate to buy a new set and not clear. I think I can get them to clear with minimal trimming but not 100% I will know more once I get my suspension put on my truck.

I've narrowed it down to 3 tires.
First place because of your recommendation and real life experience:
(1)MTR's kevlars
(2)Pitbull Rockers
(3)Iroks

I just don't care for the look and they don't look that aggressive for Offroad abuse. But I want the best performance Offroad I can get and you have convinced me these are the tires to get. I'm already at a disadvantage with a big heavy truck to keep up with my jeep and buggy friends.

Hey 05, By the time I finish the Baja in May and make the trek back to FLorida, Those current 40's will be SHOT.. I might have 2 fresh spare's though. Its up to you on the tire's... I love the MTR's because I do a ton of street driving (ie: driving out west to wheel etc) tough tires for sure. If my rig was a trailer queen, I would go with the Pitbulls (however, the Pitbulls are VERY HEAVY TIRES!!!) or the IROK's (great all around tire for off road if going with the Bias Ply) THe Radial IROK's are good, but wear down fast on the street. In my Experience, If I did a lot of highway running, and abusing off roading the MTR's are the way to go (and the fact they are made in the USA))))) When I get the rig back to Florida, even though she will undergo a full Truggy tube chassis conversion (fully double triangulated rear link etc.etc.etc.) , and most likely spend a lot of time on the trailer, I will still be going with the 42" MTR's

Hey SHeepDog, I will not be racing in the event, just going to run the trails, and be a spectator for the KOH, and hit up all the parties around the "town"

OK sorry for the long delay in posting updates to the build. Since I got it back from running the complete Baja pennisula for 3.5 weeks from San diego to Cabo, then cabo to Tacate, then back to FLorida. The surf was epic. and the trip was great. I did however pop a front main seal of the engine, and it took a total of 20 minutes to replace it with a new one GO HEMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The great news I have, is that I finally pulled the trigger on a Flo-Charger/ Supercharger (custom ordered to run 8 psi) with the high mount intercooler for the 6.4L Hemi powerplant.   Yes I still plan on using the current Nitrous Oxide set up with the new SuperCharger, but will be running it on a very controlled 125hp shot at 2degrees retard 1st and second stage. It should be one hell of a ride, I will post pictures of the install and the "ins and outs" and any programming issues that arise (and fixed) next week when the kit arrives

Very damn excited..

Michael

ACRUCRAZY, I am selling the tube doors I built for my truck, they will bolt right up to your dodge in your avatar picture... make an offer.. they are solid, and built right, with a killer latch mechanism.. bolts right on with NO mods.

Keep in mind, regular cab doors are larger than the quad cab doors.

Whats up fellas, Sorry for the absence, but I wanted to give an update on the build process since I found some remotivation to improve the dodge. It is undergoing a HUGE revamp of the current suspension. When I built this rig, I left on the rear leaf springs to help carry the load of heavy expedition gear on the HUGE trip out west that I completed to include ALL the trails out west (Moab, Fordyce, Alpine Loop, Pikes Peak, Sand Mountain, The RUbicon Trail, King of the Hammers, the ENTIRE Baja Pennisula, and some trails in between) Just got her home after a 1.5 year stint, and now off to build this Dodge Ram into a full blown rock bouncer (as originally planned) So here are the plans: REAR
Cut off the rear of the frame and build into a full Truggy tube chassis (rear)
Double triangulated 4 link Using 1.5" RuffStuff Heims, 2" .250 upper and lower DOM tube (dialed the fuck in using COG for Anti-squat, and geometry based on my measurements)
Using the Lastest and newest Pro-Fender triple by-pass 2.5 air shocks w/res, that include internal bump stops, and no need for limiting straps// 43" series (16") rear shocks
re-vamp the rear cage to support the weight and carry a spare tire

FRONT:
CUstom 3 link design,,,,slide the front axle forward 3",,,PSC full Hydro Steering using a dual feedback orbital valve,,,,ARTEC industries ram mount/skid and the same shacks that are used on the rear will protrude through the hood.

I will post pictures of the build in progress

Welcome back Michael! Hey on the PSC steering is that the tapped gearbox, hoses, pump and ram? If so I would be interested even though I have that setup but extra set would be cool for no real reason. Are u going full hydro?
