How much gusseting behind the winch mount area? I see problems pulling a 16.5 to capacity if it's just flat plate.

When did Mercenary start building bumpers for the 4th Gen Ram? Are you the test dummy? LOL!

I am the test dummy. This is actually the second one made. He made the first one for a 12,000lb. winch. When he found out I was mounting a 16.5 he went back and built one specifically for me with a much stronger mounting to accommodate the big 16.5ti. I think the first one was put on a white truck down near him.

I have no idea how much it weighs. I'm not sure I will be able to find out. You could always call him!

I forgot to answer this question from earlier. The gear adornment were CNC pieces that were just sitting around the shop! LOL. Left over from making a desk actually! LOL

I did talk with him and he said i would probably need to ditch my stock winch mount, he also said he didnt know if I would have to make clearance for the smart bar. Are you keeping your smart bar on this project? If so I would appreciate it if you show what, if anything you end up doing to deal with that, because im gonna order one in about two weeks. Oh and he said he estimates it to weigh around 180 lbs.

Sounds like 2wagons was just about right on the weight. By smart bar do you mean the sway bar? If that is what you meant then the answer is no. We had to remove it. Of course, I have done a lot more to my front end than just replace the winch and bumper. I will try to take more pics of the front end when we get to it. I haven't so far as it hasn't changed much since we took the bumper and factory winch off. We just started doing the hydro-assist today and will try to finish it up by Monday. Hell, I still don't have front fenders as of yet. We may just go without them and figure something out when I get home. There is soooo much more work to be done when we get home from the UA. I'm beginning to think this shit will never end! BOOYAH!! LOL

Oh well I got a torch n welder I'll figure it out but I bet it won't be pretty. Sounds like the pressure is on so you must have to leave soon, good luck and have fun on your adventure, can't wait to see your rig in action/ print.

I got the idea from my smittybilt m1
Bumper and winch tray! The winch tray weighed about 80lbs and it was very small in comparison to the rest of the bumper! May need some diesel soft coils on that thing to keep your nose from dipping like mine did! What coils are you running anyways? Bds?

You better get a move on. I hope it works good and is reliable. Sucks not having more time to test. I know the feeling I'm going 3000 mile wheeling/road trip with very little testing. Hopefully it holds up!!!!

That front bumper looks freakin AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! If I had the $$$,I would order one tomorrow!!!!

I gotta say, your whole truck looks freakin AMAZING, I get on here every day after work looking for an update!!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Please tell me though that you will have a large Power Wagon logo somewhere on your truck? (since there's no longer the tailgate logo, lol!!!!) That way everybody that sees your truck knows it's a Power Wagon!!!!

Are you planning some extra tranny cooling. I have severely worked that tranny before and yes it can take a beating. But it's still a weak link. Bring extra fluids. My pw tranny held up to a ton of off road abuse but diesd towing. I also snapped my tcase chain once. Tough yes but the kind of wheeling youre gonna do best to be prepared. On the flip side they may work perfectly

Those are things I will have to address after the UA. There is more I want to do like swap the front 9 1/4 for an 11 1/2, but I probably wont. I am planning a new tougher tranny and an Atlas trans case!! We will see what happens

Id imagine changing your gear ratio for the larger tires would help your t case and tranny. Less load on it all together may eliminate the problem

Uhhh Crawler you can stay over there until your woody goes away! LOL

It has 5.13 gears now. The reason I swapped out the 10.5 rear end for the 11.5 is to be able to put in lower gears!

I cannot lay claim to this fabrication and build. I may be helping (little LOL) but Luke and Dillon are the fabricators and welders on this one. I have some skills, but they have MAD skills. I wanted this to be a professional job. Not an amateur job like me!
