Pics of the new Nitto Trail grapplers. You can see their new sidewall design in the second picture. It is made to have the lugs on the sidewall fold over into the tread lugs as you airdown to effectively increase your footprint. The more you air down the more they fold over and the wider the footprint gets. I think its a brilliant idea myself.

Damn I'm not home I'm at work but if I get home and my black Hutchinson's are missing I'm gonna be pissed. You can copy me I have good taste lol. I got the black ones so I can just touch them up when I scratch them all up because I built it to be abused lol. Looking good. Let me know what your true feelings are about the trail grapplers after the UA. I had them and they were great on the highway. But chunked bad on the rocks. Hope they work for you. Might be better with new design. Love the bed so far. Watching closely.

Are those Nitto Trail Grapplers the standard fare or a competition compound tire? I like that new sidewall, will they all have that now or just the 40s?

Looking AWESOME so far!!!! I wish I had the gumption to back half my 2012, it sure would make it more capable! Instead I just keep bashing my bedsides into trees, DOH!!! I really need a rear mount winch too, I've had to get the back of my truck winch sideways to get my bedsides off of trees I've slid into many a time! I absolutely LOVE those Hutchinsons, so much WANT!!!!!!! Really enjoying following your build! Keep up the great work and drool worthy pics!!!!!!!

They are the DOT's. I asked for the spec tires but couldnt do it as the rigs have to be street legal. of course i dont care if they are or not. but they do. lol

SWEET!!!! They look awesome!!! I've been contemplating them as it looks like my MTRKs just will not balance. How are you balancing your big tires, 05PWrockcrawler and BANGG?

Y'all have a MUCH heavier wheel and tire combo than me! I've 37s on stock PW wheels- I've got EQUAL tire balancing powder in them right now and they still feel like a drier with a brick in it! I have tried getting them balanced with regular weights MANY times (5+) and could only get two of the four to be passable for the front, the other two have just had to stay at the rear. I would try pad balancing but for two things- 1: The only place by me that does it (that I now of) did such a terrible job balancing my tires with weights that I am reluctant to ever do business with them again!!! and 2: I am worried that when aired down, the pad might come off from the inside of the tire. (IDK if #2 is a legitimate concern though?)

This is my third set of Nittos and ive never a balance or fail issue. First two sets were on my work/ranch truck. 37's. Ive been running the Toyos or Nittos for a long time now. Always pleased

Im not wondering if you might have a wheel issue? not likely but? i dont know much bout the MTR's. ive never ran them. i find it difficult to believe they balance so poorly. it would be interesting to put them on a road force balancer
