He advised me that the Carli system would lift the front by about an inch and drop the rear about an inch, leveling the truck and I'd end up with a 3" lift from stock (overall). That's just what the Carli engineer told me. He said the 2013 PW has a 4" lift in the rear and a 2" lift in the front (from the factory).

Some dealerships don't even know what a power wagon is so I don't think most would know if it is "ok" to but 2" spacer on a PW. But trust me when I say they will want you to pay for a damaged front end due to spacers. They will do just about anything to get a $50k truck out the door, 2" spacers included. If you didn't buy the truck with the spacers installed from the dealership I could see damage being on you. Also it seems as though the 3rd gen PW only get about an inch or so out of the Carli springs but the 4th gen seems to sit lower from the factory so I think they are gaining more from the spring swap. If I'm still more than 1/2-3/4 inch off from level then I'll find a little spacer after the spring swap. I'm hoping I get just as much as the other 4th gen members. 2" hope hope hope!

Seems to be a difference in what Carli is saying and what is actually happening.

So, did you just opt for the Carli Leveling Kit (Springs & Shocks), or were there other components that you had to add as well?

I think the Carli engineer is a bit mistaken. The rear is not lifted 4".

Yeah, my understanding is that a Power Wagon is 1.4" taller in the front and 1" taller in the rear from a standard 2500. It seems like everywhere I go, and everyone I turn to, has a different answer or opinion on what should be done. At this point I just want to see a Power Wagon suspension set-up in person that I like and just copy that!

Not sure if I helped you in your decision at all but I hope so. Didn't mean to make it harder if I did. Just giving my 2 cents. If you can wait a week or so I will have before and afters on my truck. Maybe that will help more. I'll be sure to take pis too.

Seeing it in person is the way to make a decision. However, taking a ride in a properly equipped truck is the best way to know for certain that you want to go with what you want. After all you will be driving it, not just looking good in it.

So, I decided to relocate my Winch Controller Port from the front of the truck to the inside of the cab …

Image

I removed the harness, cut it in half, soldered and heatshrinked color matching 16ga wire, and wrapped the new wire bundle with electrical tape …

Image

I then started the mounting phase of the Winch Controller Port into the dash panel I chose …

Image
Image

I started by making a cardboard template so I could square and center the Winch Controller Port in the available space …

Image

I measured the outside diameter of the stepped lip located on the back side of the Winch Controller Port and traced the circumference onto the template using a compass …

Image

I cut the inner portion out and traced the inside diameter onto the dash panel …

Image
Image

Using a Dremel, I cut an opening and honed it for a perfect fit …

Image

I then placed the Winch Controller Port in the new opening and marked the screw holes …

Image
Image

I Dremeled those holes as well for more control and a tighter fit …

Image

… Then, I mounted the Winch Controller Port …

Image
Image
Image

After that I mounted the dash panel back into the dash panel assembly and remounted it to the dash … (Man … that’s alotta dashes!!!) …

Image
Image

I ran the wire bundle through the port I fabricated last weekend …

Image

I ran it along the wiring harnesses for the winch (Zip-Tying as I went), soldered & heatshrinked the connector end of the harness, and wrapped the last part of the wiring bundle with electrical tape …

Image
Image

… and here’s what I ended up with … I nice, clean, factory look!

Nice job! Using steel rope inside the cab is best....but it's kind of ugly, can you find a cap for it?

Here's the setup for the front of my truck, I do have synthetic rope which I feel is safer than steel but I have a remote winch controller that plugs into the same port that a wired one would go into so that I can stand in a safe place and watch the rope spool onto the winch:

Thanks Man! I only have time for projects on the weekends, so this coming weekend will be the 2" Mopar Leveling Kit and the wiring for the PIAA 540's and 530's, and the weekend after that will be the installation of my Trail Ready Pre-Runner Guard front bumper, PIAA lights, and Warn 10" Roller Fairleads. Stay Tuned!

So, I have to apologize guys and gals. I performed the Mopar 2" Leveling Kit install and ran the wiring for the PIAA lights this weekend, taking pictures the whole time, not realizing my camera didn't have a memory card in it. Needless to say I have no step-by-step to share with you on either project. I will however shoot some pictures this week to show you all how it all turned out. My bad!

If anyone has any questions concerning either install, please feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to walk you through it.

Any pictures of the mopar level kit on your truck? How does it ride? Any issues? I find this approach very interesting as AEV appears to be going this direction as well(ie spacer to retain the factory spring/rate). I've never been a huge fan of spacers, but if Mopar and AEV are on board with the approach... thank you.

Hey RckyMtnRam, I'm so sorry I haven't done much in the way of updating my build thread. I've just been absolutely swamped with every other responsibility in life. I truly didn't have the time to catalog my projects over the past couple months. I barely had time to get them done at all!

I have the Mopar 2" Leveling Kit installed, I have my Trail Ready Pre-Runner Guard bumper installed, I have my PIAA lights installed and wired, and I have the switches mounted in the cab. I'm also in the process of relocating my winch.

I'm heading up north this weekend, so I plan to take plenty of photos and videos. I'll make sure to upload them as soon as I can so you can all see the progress.

As for the ride, I've only had a chance to drive it on the streets. I'll certainly do some off-roading this weekend so I'll give you all an update when I've experienced off-road conditions. It handles great on road though. I've had no issues and haven't noticed any difference from stock. I as well have never been a huge fan of spacers, but I just can't afford Carli suspension right now, so it at least gets my truck level for clearance issues in the front. The kit comes with two 2" spacers and longer bump stops. Over travel shouldn't be an issue. I had an alignment performed afterwards and everything was great. I even received a compliment from the technician that handles lift and leveling kits at the dealership. He said I did a flawless job! So far I'm a fan of the kit's value and performance.

Keep posted for some upcoming updates to the thread!
