Power wagons at work

Post by jeep_boy02 » Wed Jul 21, 2021 12:09 am

Didn't see a "show us your PW doin' work" thread so let's get one started.

Post up pics of you using your rig like a truck should be fellas.

A few are from times before but the load of river rock I got today gave me this idea.

Towing the jeep to Disney, OK.

And gladly hauling my grandpa's 91 F250. Nothing like a Mopar hauling a FurdImageImage

That was a 79 chief. I love the FSJ Cherokees. I do have an 83 grand wagoner limited, ROUGH shape but I found an 80 chief to replace the pancaked one. Way better shape too. Pulled the 360/727 out of the GC and had it running in a weekend.

I was trying to figure up how much weight was in there... seems heavy to me but it says river rock is 1.35t a yard or 2700 lbs.
The operator that loaded me said the bucket was 3/4 yard and I got two... that's 1.5 yards so 2.7t!??? I don't think I had 5000lbs + in there...

They sell it by weight where I’m at. Scale in, get loaded, scale out, pay.

It looks like about a ton in your truck. If he loaded you twice he definitely didn’t do two full buckets. Maybe he meant your truck can fit 3/4 yard

Some brush and a tree I cleared early Summer of last year. Pic loaded is with all the logs from the tree loaded in the bed and trailer, along with brush from around the yard. Thuren's coils (and I'm sure the stock Wagon coils would have been the same) were not happy. Drove about 30 minutes to dump it at my buddy's property about an inch and a half off the bump stops.

Drove mine for the first time in about a month. Hauled the pile of slash to the county dump, and came home with way too much mulch.
Image

Told the loader operator (Cat D950) I only wanted about half a truck bed, or like a quarter of a bucket of mulch. Dude dumped probably 3/4 of the bucket in the bed, the rest of it all around the bed of my truck. Shoveled a bunch of it out, threw the tarp over it and headed home.
Tree/yard does look nicer, and with the shitload of mulch I had left after the tree I was able to mulch in the area between retaining wall and rock/driveway.
Image

Past few jobs i've taken the thunder pumpkin. I don't care how badass a power wagon is, it still won't go where a motorcycle can, or as fast. :lockedandloaded:

I like those Door graphics, suttle yet representing...

Bathroom remodel materials weighed a bit more than I expected... guess 3 pallets of tile and materials will do that.

Been doing some landscaping finally.

She's squatted pretty good and to make matters worse this rental place doesn't have brakes on their equipment trailers!!!

I don't understand that at all! Most people are pulling around mini exs and those little Kubota back hoes with a 1/2 ton and no brakes!

Let's freshen up this ghost town!

Little work to go play...
20231103_144008.jpg
Around 16k. Did absolutely fine. I put airbags on finally so no more squatting.

Kept it out of 5th, 70mph average. 7.3 mpg round trip. Not flat at all but also not in the mountains.

Trans stayed at 160 except for one grade that bumped it to 173. I'm impressed
