That will be four full days of wheeling together. Many will need two days travel time there and back which makes it an eight day trip, but only needing six day's away from work to attend. Plus, when you are tired after getting home you will have two day's to "re-coup" before heading back to work!

How does that sound?

I will leave the camping/hotel/food issues up to everyone individually. However, I think it would be great if all participants camp and be together in the evenings and mornings for, shall we say, frivolity and camaraderie? Perhaps staying at a place with camping/RV spot's and showers available making it a "POWER WAGON RENDEVOUS"!!!

I also think having at least one evening be dedicated to an all participants "BBQ" get together would be appropriate. Perhaps on Monday afternoon/evening? If all are interested in this idea I will offer up supplying all the food for that event as long as someone else cook's it! Or, even better I will hire a catering outfit from Green River come out and do it for us if I can find one! I am not a "chef" and usually just eat lunchables for lunch and military MRE's for dinner. LOL! Beer and booze is your responsibility!

What say all?

Alright, those are good points Sheepdog! All shall remain the same except the dates will now be as follows....

Arrival day for all will be Sunday May 3rd. The wheeling event will be Monday the 4th through thru Thursday the 7th. Departure day will be Friday the 8th so all can make it home in time for Mother's Day.

If within the next week everyone agrees to this schedule I will then call Crawlers RV place and see if I can't get us a group area and rate for our dates. I looked at the place and will try for this. I will rent one of the cottages for the week and stay in it. I will try to get tent sites next to one where everyone can camp. Then all of us can use the cottage for showers and the restroom. That seems like a good plan to me!

***ALL NEED TO KEEP IN MIND IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAN SOMETHING LIKE THIS WHICH MATCHES EVERYONE'S IDEAL NEEDS/WANTS! ALL WE CAN DO IS PUT THE DATES OUT THERE WITH AS MUCH INPUT AS POSSIBLE AND HOPE ALL CAN MAKE THE NEEDED ARRANGEMENTS. WE ARE DOING OUR BEST***
I'm in! Oh, and I'll be camping...

I usually go hunting every year and this year got drawn for moose and elk. Wife says "well, if you get all that meat this year you won't need to go hunting next year so you will have the vacation days to go to Moab."

Hmmmmmm, she makes a good point! Getting closer to putting myself down as a firm yes! Hopefully can figure out a few more things on the vacation days and make this happen!

Sometimes gotta compromise on the trips, only get 4 weeks vacation and next year already have 2 weeks booked for Maui and 1 week booked for summer camping in BC. That only leaves 1 week left, not enough for hunting and Moab. Well, could still do a quick long weekend hunt, just not the full trip.

From the looks of it when I talk to the RV place next week I'm going to tell them it will be between 15 and 20 trucks. I will try to get a group rate for tent sites. It sounds like myself and Crawler and looking at getting a cottage. Crawler, if your family is coming you get your own. If it's just you maybe we could share one. I will keep mine open to the whole group for showers n shitter! I will try to get all of us as close together as possible. At the very least if between myself and Crawler we have one or two cottages we can use them as the "gathering" area.

P.S. I will bring my little propane fire pit if there are no fires allowed!

Couple of questions, how much is the cottage? plus you mentioned tent sites what about if I bring my camp trailer, How much is it to park the trailer? Reason I am asking it may just be more convenient to get a cottage depending on cost .

They don't list prices on their site. Any idea what it would cost per night?

So, I calculated the cost including fuel (there, back, & wheeling), food, and lodging. I calculated $415 for fuel, $100 for food, and $485 for lodging (going with the large cabin). That puts me at $1,000 total. I expect some small overages, but nothing too surprising. That means I need to set aside roughly $111 a month from now until May. DOABLE ! ! !

Why don't you all let me get a hold of them and I will see if I can get three cottages together for myself, Crawler and Dirt Raod. Then we can use this area for gathering!
