Moab is scaring my truck! The rear differential is perfucked still, blinking like a cheap Halloween decoration. Transfer case is serviced, but now I have no damn brakes! Fine Monday & shit tonight, I can see some fluid on the driver front brake line. Barely visible, but it's right where the hydraulic pressure crimp is on the hose connecting to the brake banjo fitting tying into the caliper. Now I'm cussing Crown Performance for a failed brake line with only 4K on it! Maybe I 'll bring extra fluid & just keep bleeding the air...all...day...long.??? "Brakes? We don't need no stinking brakes!" AAAARRRRGGGGG! Phucitol!

Well, we had a very exciting day today. Got everyone down and up Hell's Gate (we switched trails this morning to Hell's Revenge) and got almost to the hot tubs when I was bringing the last truck up a very steep incline. Got him up and these guys on quads who'd been filling us since Hell's Gate started ripping around on the obstacle when one of them flipped over backwards with the full weight of the quad coming down on his torso.

To make a long story short we called for an air ambulance and they dispatched SAR. Got the helicopter landed and they took him to Grand Junction CO.

We're pretty sure he broke a couple ribs. We loaded his quad into the back of Pit Slave's truck and hauled it out while the rest of his group followed us out. We didn't get to do escalator this year, but got some good 4th gen vid.

The Air Ambulance we had to call in. Notice the stacked rocks under the skids. Power Wagons don't have to stack rocks!

The helicopter was on unlevel ground and was rocking back and forth. Needed the rocks to keep it level and steady.

That was the most level spot I could find to land it. Hats off to that crew...it was a high adventure landing.

Given we were also trying to find something close by so we didn't have to schlep the guy on the backboard too far up and down the trail and the wind picking up like it did, they did a nice job landing.

Thanks for the Tonka vid Big Red. I laughed when I saw the mirror pulled in on the passenger side. Crawling here in AZ that's a must in my 4G ... I almost need removable mirrors! It's good to see I'm not alone!

No carnage aside from a serious case of desert pinstriping BigRed2007 picked up on the scenic day.

Couldn't get out of Serv 4wd so I had no lockers and just did it in 4-hi. Obviously not doing Hell's Gate and taking the slightly easier lines.

Missed you and the family this year!!!

Well, if you believe in karma, I got some. Three or four years ago we were doing Chicken Corners when mid-trail my blend door broke and my AC sounded like a prop plane doing an engine test on the runway. Being the cheap and lazy bastard I am, I've lived with it all this time. Family hated it.

So, on Sat, after we'd taken two hours of trail time sitting with and helping the guy on the flipped ATV, a longer than normal ride out due to Pit Slave having the ATV loaded in the back of his truck and having to skip Escalator in order to get the guys buddies off the trail along with the ATV, I exited the trail and within a minute of hitting pavement I hear a thunk in the dash and all of sudden my AC is totally back to normal sound level. Ran it on high and in between all the way home and as of my drive in to work this morning, it's still quiet!

See, some problems do go away if you ignore them long enough! Lol!
