So I see a few guys that can't make it for one reason or another and I was just wondering who is still planning on making it? I will be hitting the road on the 28th coming from VA and with this being my first trip I just wanted to know if there was a planned meeting spot. How do things normally work for these get together's ?

You run around town until you see another PW. LOL We most times have dinner at Eddie McStiff's on Thursday evening. PM your cell phone number to Leif. He has been the main contact there.

Thanks Rusty. Likewise, we were looking forward to meeting your wife, since we missed you last time you came out our way. It really sucks to miss the trip this year (or any year for that matter), but that's just the way the chips fell with this move. It's definitely good to be moving back home though, and being back in the same town again, hopefully Leif and I will be able to get out and wheel together more often now.

Still working out if/when I will make it. May be coming without the wife (she doesn't think it will be fun or that there will be other ladies around).

Also we have no reservations to camp anywhere...oops...

We need to pick out some trails. I've been on pretty much all of them so I'm open to pretty much anything except doing Poison Spider, then Golden Spike, then Gold Bar Rim.. That was a 16 hour day for a 23 mile round-trip.. :-) Wife would kill me if I do that again.

We need a scenic trail for Fri and a technical for Sat. To get to Golden Spike you have to go through Poison Spider Mesa or Gold Bar Rim, so that's a hard one to pull off without a long day. For Scenic, Le Sal Pass is tough due to snow pack. We tried it one year and ended up turning around.

For technical, some of my favorites are Poison Spider Mesa and Hell's Revenge, but again, I'm open to anything really. Let's hear some ideas.

What do people think of Book Cliffs, Sego Canyon for the scenic trail? pg. 37 in the book for those of you who have it. For those of you who don't, it's highly suggested to get Charles A Wells Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails. It can be bought from Funtreks. However, given the short amount of time left for shipping it, you might want to wait to pick one up at the Moab Visitor's Center.

Cliffhanger, pg 99 might be fun for the technical. I've never been on it.

Also, please bring FRS/GMRS radios for communicating between trucks on the trails. Usually someone has a spare on hand (as you buy them in pairs) to loan if we need to.

Also, for those of you who haven't been to Utah before, if you're particular about your booze, you might want to bring your own. There's some good micro-brews in Moab, but Utah's got some strict laws on liquor.

As stated later, anywhere really. Heck, even Walmart sells them. Get something with at least 10 mile range. Not that we'll be that far apart, but you'll need the power in canyons and whatnot.

Food.....

For Thurs night dinner. Moab Brewery or Eddie McStiffs? Both have great food and drink.. With this many people we're going to want reservations. I'm thinking 6:30pm?

Fri night is BBQ night at the condos. Bring what you want to throw on the grill.

Sat night we could go out to dinner at whichever of the two places we didn't go to on Thurs.
