Front rear cameras

Post by Easttnrhino » Thu Oct 24, 2019 9:00 pm

I am interested in a front and rear camera, anybody found a simple and easy to use and install cameras, the back up cam to keep from backing into stuff and the front to help more off road. Any ideas?

I used NAV TV for my front camera (I had the factory rear camera). Not sure if this helps or not?

Kits are available for rear, front, side and cargo, but they are pricey and have some limitations depending on the model year. The kit interfaces with UConnect radio and displays on the screen on 5 and 8.4 radios. Otherwise like above, buy the piece parts along with monitor and wire it up.

I think MOPAR has the rear backup cam kit for the tail gate as well. My guess is that install would be a PITA.

Your 2017 doesn't have a factory back up camera? I see you're from East Tenn. Kingsport is (was) my home town.

Thanks I will look into NAV TV. And my 2017 does not have back up cam, can be added easy according to most but the front throws a kink in it. Summit racing sells a kit I like but just not sure. Been thru Kingsport several times over the years, pretty country. I am half way between Knoxville and Chattanooga near Athens tn

I know the area very well. Most of family still alive is actually in Hawkins County, in the Church Hill, Surgoinsville, Rogersville areas. Hunted and fished there and in Grangier and Sevier counties quite a bit back in the day.

CameraSource.com, Customtronix, and Infotainment sells kits in some form or fashion.

Customtronix has a nice front cam hidden in the ram logo in the grill. Some other interesting items as well.
