Yeah, not Mac friendly.
You need a Windows system/environment. Won't work on Mac's.

yeah, not gonna work.
Basically got two options:
First, you can run windows using
BootCamp boot loader or
Parallels hypervisor.
BootCamp lets you boot your Mac hardware into Windows (Dual-boot).
Parallels will let you run Windows and its applications inside the Mac op system (machine virtualization).
Either way, you'll need a (legit) copy of Windows. I've used 2K and XP in Parallels before and it works pretty well, though since you're running two op systems on one metal box you do need a fair bit of resources (RAM, CPU) to work well. Both options have advantages/disadvantages.
Second option, and since you're working with hardware it's what I'd recommend .... get a cheap used windows box. Goodwill and craigslist are good places to start. I've also purchased from
USANotebook.com, they buy the machines from companies that upgrade and wipe/resell the hardware for cheap.
I've got an old-ass Dell D630/XP for the few things I need windows for.
Nice to have the cheap computer for schematics/parts fiche in the garage anyways. Install a remote-access tool like TeamViewer on it and use it as a remote terminal into your "main" computer.

Another potential problem might be your internet speed. I got a Diablo Predator a few years ago and could never get the software to update on my Windows machine with DSL. Apparently not enough bandwidth because the app kept timing out. Could not get the programmer to run on my truck without the update, so a complete waste of money unless I upgrade my ISP.

The speed & connection's perfect, just the wrong operating system.
