So who was looking for a RAD-1?

Here's one, err, "More than 10 available" on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Innovate-RAD-1- ... eo&vxp=mtr

$113.85 + $35.84 Standard Shipping in the US. That shipping is pretty steep. And I'm not sure why the odd money amount, too. It says it's located in Wareham, MA, USA, but I have a feeling they are probably from Australia.

Yep, I bought one!

And I was ready to buy an aviation artifical horizon with altimeter. I think those things are very accurate! The second one shows it'd tilted to the point it's showing "Dive." For our wagons, it should say, "Oh Shit."

It looks like the shipping was only $15.00. I had let the payment part sit from yesterday forgetting to submit Confirm and Pay. I guess I was so busy I forgot to click it. When I went back into eBay seeing my mistake, I went through the payment process again, and lo and behold, shipping was only $15.00. Hmm, I wonder how that happened?

The point is it's on its way for $128.85. :D

Forget that RAD-1 from eBay I posted earlier.

The guy just refunded my money saying he didn't realize Innovate no longer makes it.

WTF! Why did he even list it???

Yep. From a '90 something Yoto. Off flea-bay. Matches the dash, has built-in lighting, too. :D

I was looking at those when I got my "el cheapo". The ones on flea-bay at that time were all junk. I still might look into one of those again. How well does the colors match for the dash?

I haven't even got that far putting it in the dash. I assume it's close. I'll check tomorrow in daylight. I'll take a pic and post it.

Fix it. LOL! One of the control buttons are sticking that adjust roll. When Pit stopped over last week, we were trying to straighten it out, but it needs to be opened up. The adjuster is just clicking past the detents for some reason. I think it started happening when I dropped it. (stupid me!)

I may sell it for cheap after I fix it. I think Pit hinted at it...

I have used the RollMeOver app for my Android tab and phone and really like it. It has a bunch of data storing features. I'm working on getting him to add the Power Wagon to the list of vehicle display options.

Resurrecting a 12 year old thread:

I was toying with the idea of mounting a permanent inclinometer on my dash, but considering that I don't really do that much extreme off roading, I decided against it. It would be more for a passenger anyway that's only familiar with driving on level roads, like my grandson, so I could watch his eyes get bigger as the numbers increase. It's those moments when you're driving up a trail only to find that it dead ends and you have to turn around, except there's no where normal to do it. Rather than backing a mile down the road, you have to execute an unorthodox three-point-turn-about, by backing up a steep hillside and descending in the opposite direction. This resulted in a "Come to Jesus moment", which even resulted in the audible prayer "OH DEAR LORD"!

I might also need to install a suction meter in the seat cushion.

For a while I've just been using the stock level app that comes on the iPhone. It gives the basics but leaves a lot to be desired.

IMG_4726.PNG

Now I'm trying the "Off-Road Inclinometer" by Joaquin Tare on the App Store. It provides simultaneous roll and pitch data, as well as a compass. You can choose between slope percentage or degrees, remember max angle achieved and set alarms to warn you if you're approaching the tipping point. There are quite a few vehicle images to choose from, if you pay to unlock those features and stop the ads. This will work if your phone is vertical in a mount or laying flat on the center console, just push the "Zero" button to recalibrate.

IMG_4722.PNG

Anyhow, just one of the toys I've been playing around with.

Sweet! I installed a RAM mount on my new ‘24 in the sunglass holder above the Uconnect w/ an articulated carbon fiber arm & the USB powered mag-safe charger cradle so I could do things like monitor angles etc. The Uconnect had off-road pages, it’s got the basics, similar to a wrangler. How much is that app?
