Factory Radio

Post by wprecanico » Tue May 02, 2023 5:14 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if I should spend any more time on this or not. I'm trying to stay with a factory radio for my 2009 PW. Currently, I have the REF version of radio installed. I want Hands Free (I live in MA where it's law). Problem is that when I look at the RES or REN radios, the plug is slightly different. Is there a different plug/cable I need to have in order to install the different version of radio, or do I just bag the whole thing and get an aftermarket radio? I don't really want to spend a ton of dough on a radio, and I don't mind the factory look or sound. It's not my daily driver.

Talk w a good custom car stereo guy. They know all about possible adapters, availability, functions etc. I was able to find a warranted RECONDITIONED OEM 6 CD DISC changer for my stock Alpine Infinity 9 speaker system. We discussed several possibilities & the price was less than$ 125 installed ( although I chose to stay original there were upgrade connectors available for hands free connectivity; rear camera’s navigational etc.) 🍀🍀 👍Good luck!!

There are all sorts of crazy adaptors a good car audio guy will know about that are very hard to find if you are not in the industry or go to one of the big shows where the mfgrs exhibit.
