It's not like they can just reach down and replace the door or actuator, like in a older Grand Cherokee I had. And, I just got a new evaporator and heater core replaced a month ago. Yea, not sure why...

He needs an evaporator. It doesn't matter which parts you are replacing, if you crack open the AC you will need a vacuum pump and pressure manifold to charge the system.
