Re: Hi lift jack ideas
IMG_1444.JPG What are you using as lift-points on the PW and what do you expect to achieve with that Hi_lift? If you have rock sliders, they are good lift points for a HiLift. If you get the “Lift Mate” wheel lift kit, it’s great for lifting one corner to place a traction board or rocks t...

Re: Air Coupler Protection
I installed ARB air couplings with dust caps recently on both front and rear bumpers. Haven’t driven thru a snow storm or mud puddles with them yet, but the cap seems to seal very well. They stayed dry even at the car wash. Side note about the ARB couplings: they are awesome. Much easier to use than...

Basically the same in that they are both round, correct. Design is very different though on the pre-17 wheels

Painted Stock Wheels (2017+)
Has anyone painted the OEM Wheels on a 2017+ PW? Not a huge fan of black wheels in general (though the Power Wagon ones aren’t terrible with the machined faces) I’m curious how the wheels would look in just regular silver.

Re: Factor 55 ultra hook
I have the Flat Splicer (same as Flatlink E, but rope splices onto hook rather than using a thimble). If I were to do it again, I’d get the Flatlink E. Same, but I think it’s easier to splice onto a thimble than the hassle it was to splice onto the Flat Splicer. I don’t see any benefit of the Ultra ...

4th Gen Center Floor Console in a 5th Gen (2019+)
They gave us a bit of a short stick in the 2019+ Power Wagons with the pathetic and useless “floor console” that amounts to a pen tray and slightly larger pen tray. Nobody is going to be sitting in the center front seat that has legs anyways with the lack of space between the seat and the center sta...

Re: 19 ram power wagon screaming bigger
Just fit 35x12.5r17 Duratracs onto the factory wheels (I think the dealer put the 2020 black wheel on this 19 before I found it). No rub anywhere I've been, but I haven't run it to full flex yet. Daily driving, gravel, tight turns, and slight bad road trail use has been perfect. Also, I bent the he...

This is kind of a loaded question. What are your needs and wants in a new truck? What are you comparing to? It’s not the right truck for everyone, but it’s a great truck if it meets your needs and wants.

Re: Paint
I had the dealer remove all the decals on mine as part of the deal when buying it(new). They said they have a big “oven” room in their body shop, that is able “to heat the truck and then the decals peel off really easily”. I’m sure a hair dryer and patience would work, goo-gone if any adhesive remains

Re: Buying a 2020 PW
I think the chrome would all fit nothing different above the bumper, but it looks like it’s a fair amount of work to remove the grille and trim. Bumper should swap too I think since the tradesman Power Wagon has a chrome bumper.
Personally, I like the black though.

Re: Abel Components Locker Bypass® $450
I can’t speak to how well/reliably they work compared to prior generations since this is my first PW. They do seem to lock quickly if they are going to lock, but some times I’ve found I have to move it a bit for it to want to lock. But yes it is nice I can lock the rear in 2wd or 4WD high. I’m assum...

Re: 2019+/5th Gen Air Dam Removal
Those mounts hanging down are called compatibility brackets. They are part of your NTSB tested collision system. They can be cross purposed for plows and other things, but in actuality, they are designed to keep low profile cars from going too far under you in a head on impact. Good info... maybe I...

Re: What did you do to your PW this week?
Removed front air dam and installed Factor55 Flat Splicer... which was a major pain in the ass to install. If I were to do it again I’d buy regular flatlink and use a regular thimble. I thought the Splicer would be nice so I could theoretically re-splice it in the field but it was such a pain that n...

2019+/5th Gen Air Dam Removal
Easy peasy. About 14 nuts and 4 bolts easily removed with a stubby ratchet, 10mm socket, and short extension. License plate bracket will only be held on by two plastic expanding clips after dam removal, so I just bolted the plate straight to the bumper. I might try and do something better about it i...

Re: 19 ram power wagon screaming bigger
Bigger tires? Hell yeah! Bigger wheels? Hell no! You won’t get much love for larger diameter wheels here. These things are off-road beasts and larger diameter wheels are more of a detriment off-road. 35x12.5R17 / 315/70R17 on stock wheels fit perfect, I’ve not noticed any rubbing turning or off-road...

Does everyone who goes need a radio? And what do you need in a spill kit? I just got this $30 spill kit on Amazon. It included a huge stack of absorbent pads, two 4ft booms, a pair of nitrile gloves, and trash bags. I split the kit in half so I could fit it behind/under the rear seat. I ordered it ...

I just installed my WKOR Sliders(0.188” thick tubes, extended width 2x4” main rails, no top plates) on my 2019 PW. I put about 30 miles mixed driving (Highway and some city) and so far I haven’t experienced any of the “crazy vibrations” others in this thread have had. My truck is stock other than 31...

Re: What did you do to your PW this week?
I’m surprised there wasn’t one of these threads before, I’ve seen them on most other auto forums. Custom stainless transfer case shift knob I ordered came so I put that on. I also got a pair of v-bar traction chains, and test fit them. And last but not least I picked up my WKOR Sliders from the frei...
