Re: Passenger door wiring harness

The wiring in these trucks is terrible overall and the wires used are as thin as hair. Ive had my rear driver door wiring break twice now, first time we soldered everything hack together and that lasted about 6 months. The wires just broke right next to where we fixed them. The second time i grabbed...

Re: 06 pw trac bar frame end bolt size?

When it comes to hardware im lucky i live in a mining town. 5 minutes from my place theres the mother of all nut and bolt warehouses and they have everything under the sun in stock. 6 bucks for 2 gr8 bolts and 2 nylock nuts.

Thuren arms +stock 06 pw no lift =37s?

Might have a line on a set of 5 nearly new 37"km2s and was wondering how theyd work with just the upgraded arms. I know both my sets of 35s rub the upper but otherwise they fit fine. Anyone running this setbup? I dont wanna lift my truck any more than it is but would love to sport 37s again. Would b...

Re: 06 pw trac bar frame end bolt size?

Meh i didnt have the extra sleeve but i had a welder and 1/4" plate lol. Took the truck for a rip to manitoulin island yesterday after the fix and she rode mint. No more clunking when turning the wheels when stopped and less slop overall.

Re: 06 pw trac bar frame end bolt size?

Drilling out the steel sleeve wont affect anything. Theyre using plastic sleves for rear leaf spring bolts now so.... The sleeve is just there so the bolt doesnt wear the bushing. I took out the old bolt and it was noticably worn so i took the 60 for a rip and got a couple new gr 8 bolts that are ab...

06 pw trac bar frame end bolt size?

Long story short, had a shop throw on a new trac bar and the frame end bolt got loose over time. Didnt notice till recently and now the hole at the frame mount is oblong and allows a little play even when the bolt is tight. My fault for not checkin. Planning to make a couple 1/4" washers to weld on ...

Re: Anyone swap in a real front axle ??

Yeah, the swap would be work but I am set up to do it if thats what it came to. You guys have convinced me to just upgrade the bj s and be happy with it though. I honestly dont even drive much compared to the average guy, 7km one way to work aint much but thats also why im so disappointed. This truc...

Re: Anyone swap in a real front axle ??

Dude, I know the pw was built wrong man. Anyone that uses plastic in the bj s that hold the weight of a truck is wrong. Plastic cages for the unit bearings are wrong. Cheezing out and making wires too short so they break when you open and close your door too much is wrong. Im not necessarily just bi...

Re: Anyone swap in a real front axle ??

Lol. So 2300 plus shipping for the rcv axles which btw look exactly like factory toyota axles, 2400 plus shipping for the free spin kit, 800 plus shipping for some axle truss, and 1400 plus shipping for the carli bj kit.... So without that truss im looking at 6100$ plus shipping to upgrade my "heavy...

Re: Anyone swap in a real front axle ??

You really think it would be cheaper in the long run? Even if I spent 5 -700 on the axle and another grand on locker and gears that would add up to the cost of just the free spin kit (last I checked that kit alone was 1500). Id be doing all the bracket building and welding myself and a ruffstuff gm ...

Anyone swap in a real front axle ??

Ok, maybe this truck is just pissing me off and maybe ive only owned solid axle trucks with real bearings and king pins but this is getting to be annoying. This truck is my dd. I dont tow and I dont really wheel it but im going through front end parts like a mofo. Stupid assed unit bearing/ball join...

Re: starting issues...

Good call on the wire to the solenoid. The shitty factory plastic plug that attaches to the spade connector on the starter was loose as all hell so I threw a new connector on. Started right up. Hopefully that solves it.

Re: Piece of crap windshield wipers.

Yaya dealer eh. The bastards wanted 380$ some odd dollars to fix a broken wire and some some corrosion on a couple others. That was after they suggested a new wiper motor. F that bs, my buddy fixed them for 2 beers lol.

Rat bastard dealers can go s.a.d!!

Fake heap?? lol. If you knew what you were talking aboud youd be dangerous (not an fj looser, an fj40 land cruiser). I realize that you have to work on trucks since Ive owned/built a couple few but Ive never had windshield wipers go on any of em. Like I said before my 40 some yr old land cruiser wip...

Re: Piece of crap windshield wipers.

So let me guess, that sensor isn't replaceable unless you buy the motor, linkage, new tires and a space shuttle right?

The wipers in my unrestored 69 fj40 land cruiser work better than the pw ones lol. Just figured Id throw that in there....

Yeah, I was a little fired up when I wrote that... 06 pw, no electrical mods besides led lights behind the grille and a disconnected winch power cable (was draining the battery). Reason I was frustrated was that after reading a bunch of posts it seems that the stealer identifies one of 4 problems (r...

So for a couple weeks now my wipers have been slow to start up and I usually have to either hit the washer or turn them to hi just to get em to go. Ive searched a bit on the forums and it seems that others also have this issue but there doesnt seem to be any fixes.... Couple posts Ive read suggest s...
