California, those issues sound dead on like your torque converter is not locking. I find it very strange that you hit those temps if you were crawling though. I'm impressed. I didn't think there was a slicker set-up than the white knuckle off-road, which weigh 250lbs together. But, I really like the custom fabrication work that you did. This gives you a stock PW with 37" tires (no rub), and you also increase to the stock 2500 (6.4L V8) tow capability...

These are the tires that I ended up going with. D rated, Toyo Open Country R/T (37x12.5R17). They ride great. I commute with approx. 49 psi all around. I have not towed yet, but do not anticipate any problems.

This is after the AEV 3" lift w/ OEM 2500 coils swapped in, and 37" Toyo tires.

This thread has mentioned upgrading the radius arms for the newer PW (2014+). I have been looking at these from Carli.
