Re: Harbor Freight Apex Predator Winch

Looks great. Nice job making it work. How much wiring did you have to finish? The wiring is stupid simple, like, this is easily one of the simplest wiring jobs I've ever had to do on any of my trucks. 1. The positive wiring is already connected to the winch and wire loomed and only needed to be rou...

Re: Harbor Freight Apex Predator Winch

Following up as I finally found some time to install the winch and build the fairlead brackets. It mates up perfectly in the face-down orientation which means the winch is spooling onto the top. It lines up perfectly through the fairlead. In the face-down position it means the freespool lever is on ...

Re: 37x12.50R17 on stock 2023

You need to hit up Peter....can't think of his handle right now. He's done a lot to his '23. Next thing you need is a Tazer. I'll see if I can figure out who he is and look into what he's done. I actually went with the AEV Procal (was here when I got home from work today) to set the tire size. Didn...

Re: Changing of the Guard

Great to hear from you Leif. Time marches on. Your PW had a good life. Hopefully your new one will be just as good as the old one. I'm sure Carlos and his sons will bring it back to life. Be a good father, sons project for them. I traded mine in for a '22 diesel Gladiator. Mother Nature started to ...

Re: Harbor Freight Apex Predator Winch

I think the winch on the 4G and up spools backwards. So keep that in mind. Thanks I'll keep that in mind. So I swung by the dealer this afternoon to see if they could help me figure out the part number to order for the lower front grill. <sigh> That was a huge waste of time. They barely knew what a...

Harbor Freight Apex Predator Winch

Thinking of picking one of these up for my new 2023 PW as it was a fleet vehicle and didn't come with one. Anyone mounted one of these yet? Does it mate up pretty straightforward, or did you need to relocate the control box? I'm also trying to figure out the grill as I'll need to run the fairlead bu...

Changing of the Guard

https://pcwize.com/truck/images/cotg.jpeg It's a bittersweet day! After nearly 20 years of service and 240K miles, my 2005 Power Wagon that launched this forum is officially retired. Stepping into her shoes is my new (gently used with 14K miles) 2023 Power Wagon. The comparison between these two ve...

New PW Pup

My last dog died about seven months ago at the ripe old age of 15. We decided it was time for a new dog and I got a new PW Pup. She's trail ready at 9 weeks!

Re: Anyone got artistic skills?

Just a followup, the dimensions aren't critical. The width isn't important as much as the height. We just don't want a really tall title bar at the top.

Anyone got artistic skills?

I totally suck at logos and artwork. Hoping someone out there has some skills that would like to try their hand at designing a logo for this forum. It would live in the top left next to where it says "Power Wagon Registry The place for Power Wagon owners to hang" and might be used on the registry si...

Sorry for the downtime, but we're in a real datacenter now. Will be migrating to VBulletin as the next step. So there will be more downtime in the near future as we get this to a great place.

You can always ask the community for some help if you need it.
Appreciate that, but even if someone drove over to the house, it’s kind of a one keyboard operation! ;-)

Re: The phoenix rises from the ashes

http://powerwagonregistry.org/ is showing the "Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page", x2 on getting the site hosted, I like the new theme are you going to keep it? Most likely, the registry will go away and we’ll replicate the functionality into the forum directly. I wrote the registry site a couple years b...

wonder what happen to the forum. I couldn't log on for the last couple of days.
Sorry about that. Normally, I'd redirect to another page to let people know something was going on if it was going to be prolonged, but the entire webserver was toast, so I couldn't do that.

Re: The phoenix rises from the ashes

No, but we can look at it too. PHBB has a whole slew of mods as well, I just never really wanted to stick a lot on, because it complicates upgrades and migrations.

The phoenix rises from the ashes

Well, this forum was about as FUBAR'd as it gets. I won't bore you with the details, but this has to be the hairiest recoveries I've ever done in my life. The good news is everything has been rebuilt from scratch (including a new reliable hard drive) and even though there was some data corruption, I...

Re: New or rebuilt 545RFE Tranny?

Don't get an ATS. Go stock replacement/rebuild or get a sharadon built if you're inclined to be abusive. Mopar parts overstock has new units with warranty for around 3k which is about what a sharadon stage 2 costs as well Or rebuild yourself for a few hundred. The 545 is fairly straight forward to ...

Re: New or rebuilt 545RFE Tranny?

Leif, I have an ATS. It was ok but I wouldn't do it as one who owns it. It has been giving me issues as of late like it was an old problematic truck. Get it rebuilt by someone you trust or go with a small performance shop that specializes in Mopar trans. I'm thinking about going either Randy's tran...

Well, coming up on 200K miles and I'm throwing 700 and 750 codes on my tranny. Dropped the pan and replaced filters and fluid.
