Thuren Fox 2.0 remote resevoirs for '12 PW

Hi Guys, Seeking input.....with questions below Background: Ran these Fox 2.0 remote shocks still they started leaking. Essentially onroad (horrible LA freeway concrete sections & our wheelbase along with expansion joints) kind of felt worse than stock, but was for sure more planted and felt better ...

Re: Towing 8K lb trailer, Air Bags w/Cradles or WDH?

This is on a 2012 front leveled truck towing a 7-9k 1ft toy hauler. One thing not mentioned....when setting up the WDH. The say to get the front end down to (less than half of where it went up to with no wdh setup or back to where it was unloaded.) What I found when I tried to get the truck to sit l...

Hemi Towing coolant and transmission Temperatures?

After smoking my overdrive clutches in the 2012 transmission a year ago, for a number of reasons. Pulling a 7-9k lb toyhauler with WDH. Currently 1) Now have tuner, with tires changed to correct size of 35inch tires. 2) Shift kit in trans with firmer shifts and hunts less and 3) will limit to 4th an...

Re: 2012 Needs a new Trans...thoughts on Jasper?

Sorry @pwjouster I found a local transmission rebuild shop (that has been around for years with great referrals) and had them tear it apart to see what they thought. My towing ordeal had smoked the overdrive clutches..... The shop rebuilt the transmission and put a shift kit in it for firmer shifts....

2012 Needs a new Trans...thoughts on Jasper?

Long story short....Towing abuse on a nasty mountain side road in 95 degree temps, (And the Shifter handle buttons to keep it in 4th or down was not working.) And trans temps hit 285 degress.....so now it slips, shifts hard, and keeps throwing codes for 5th gear and 6th gear ration mismatches, then ...

Re: How I Fixed My Code P0456

No codes, but now, even the slow flowing gas station pumps are shutting off every 30 seconds, as I try to fill the gas tank.

-> Any tips for how to remove the filter, so I can blow air out the vent tube?

Re: Towing Capacity

leveled 2012 PW with 19 Ft Attitude toy hauler tows fine here. Towed if for a year and then decided to adjust the WD Hitch (which made a huge difference!) Now 75 mph (my comfortable limit) feels like 65 mph used to.

What oil temps or coolant temsps would be considered high?

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

UPDATE: Drove it home today, good to be back in the PW!! New cam, lifters, and all exhaust manifold bolts replaced plus all the other misc for $5k. (only $1500, for 15hours of labor. Thought that was pretty good for LA.) And found out I am still within my 3rd party extended warranty (84 month /100k ...

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

The step test is a good one!! I'll have to remember that.....wonder if RetiredBLM can make switch to disable them as needed. haha!! Found out the lifter failed...(needle bearings, broke, missing, fell out...) And it then wore the cam lobe flat. New cam, lifters, and exhaust manifold bolts going in a...

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

Yes I like the truck and just like my XJ's in the past when I was younger and Grand Cherokee as well. Chrysler really does well on the concept and macro level design of their "speciality" vehicles, but the quality control on some of those gadgets and the level of effort to get to a small failed part...

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

Sorry to hear that you're having these problems. :( #2 Happens on other HD trucks as well (especially Chevy/GMC). #3 & 4 A locker bypass will make this better than new for $450, or you can return it for a full refund if you're not satisfied. #5 I would clean the evap filter and replace the ESIM for...

Re: Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

Thanks guys....I too am kind of living with 1-5, But with a new valve train, camshaft and related parts. (and even looking a Jasper engine replacement.)

It might just be too much. But then again it is day 1 with this. And even at $4k, that is just the sales tax on a $40k truck.

Re: Cylinder #1 misfire.....but only at 4500/5000 rpm

UPDATE: Long story super short. I have the dreaded cam/lifter issue on cylinder one. (Truck is now at a repair shop I trust, I can talk to the tech, sr. tech, and owner very easily and they are more than willing for me to stop by and take a look and show me things.) Sure enough, they showed me how t...

Frustrated with 2012 PW design flaws and repeated fixes

Who has been so frustrated with these issues that they moved on to a another truck? And are you happier with your new ride? I have 92k miles on the truck and here are the major design flaws: 1. UCONNECT, streaming bluetooth music is and has never has sounded right. (So I connect the phone with a ca...

Re: Weight Distribution Hitch Offroad

Ahah, just watched some videos....didn't realize you could adjust the angle of the head.

They said the goal was to keep front and rear bumper height on the truck within 1/2 inch.

How much drop are you PW guys seeing after attaching a trailer?

Thanks guys! When I get my truck back, I'll have to look closer at the hitch. Initially, I didn't see any adjustments except raising or lowering the head on the shank.

Re: Weight Distribution Hitch Offroad

I've been using the WD hitch that came with my used toy hauler. It is just the L shaped bars held to the trailer tongue by chains and then pops into the lower side of the hitch, attached to the truck. Played with using different links in the chain and measuring the front, up until the bars didn't si...

Checked fuel injector voltage and it was right in the middle. They then drove the truck around with the code reader/scanner connecte...

Cylinder #1 misfire.....but only at 4500/5000 rpm

New here, and of course need some help. My searches haven't popped up with the same scenario. So I thought I'd ask the experts here: Have 2012 RAM Power Wagon with 5.7 Hemi in it, with 92k miles and have owned it since 8k miles. Late Dec. While towing, I had a blow out (going up hill) on one of the ...

Looks great! Have a 2012 PW myself and looking at a similar front end upgrade. Just curious, why did you go with the rear shackle?
