Two things I'd like to edit. 1) I'm looking at gen 3 TIPM's 2) the price at LKQ is $15.99 + $1.50 core.
But I'll still bet you could look up the complete rebuild in eBay for the same price of about $150. Surely better than paying $1k.

Re: One headlamp not working.
If it's the TIPM, you can buy one on eBay for about $150. You can also send it in to a vendor on eBay to be refurbished for $150. Or if you have an LKQ local, it'll cost you $14.50. One from a 1500 5.7l gas will be exactly the same if you ensure that the model year is the same gen.

Re: Patagonia mile stars
I'm running 35's and they are great for the money. Very low noise on highway and wear seems to be as expected for a mud compound tire on a heavy truck. When these are finished, I'll be putting the same back on it.

Re: Code 84
I should also add that the main reason I need the numbers is to identify if the module actually WAS changed incorrectly or I need to start chasing wires. Either way I'm confident I'll get it figured out with a bit of help. I had noticed clusters of "new" ground wires added by previous owner to obvio...

Anyone and everyone with an 05 SLT Power Wagon!! If you would be so kind as to give me the numbers for your ACU (abs module) for your truck. Found out that the nice gentleman previous owner replaced the unit with one of the wrong numbers. Now figuring out after the VIN mismatch code that this is wha...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?
Setting the gap...that's a new one one me. I'm sure I could find the specs on the gap somewhere. I understand the reasoning for doing it and it makes sense. 👍 I'm sure I'll also have to get the Abel locker bypass and smart bar bypass if they're still available. But that's not a priority right now. I...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?
That's odd. It shouldn't unlock in 2wd. It should unlock in 4hi or 4low, under 18mph. If you lock it, it should lock as soon as the collar is lined up, regardless of speed. You may need to drive a few feet for it to flex and line up. If you go over 18 while unlocked, it will lock and the light will...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?
Well, mine is a 2005 and it has a shift-on-the-fly 4wd, push button disconnect and turn knob to lock the lockers. I'm in 2wd and pushed the disconnect and I got out and got under the truck and I could rock the smart bar slightly. I pushed to engage but it say there blinking. I had to drive over 18mp...

Re: New to forum
Thanks, FirerescuePW. Yeah, I had an old 76 d200 full-time 4wd and I loved it. In fact it was my first truck let alone first 4wd. Bought it for $300 in 89. Guy said tranny was out, it was a plow truck. I started it up and it wouldn't go into any gear. Asked him to give me some time looking it over, ...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?
Quick question, is the smart bar supposed to allow disengagement in 2wd? I disconnected the plug to it and looked inside to be sure it wasn't corroded and it wasn't. The rubber seal was in good shape and intact. It gives me the dumb flashing light randomly like it's trying to disengage and the 4x4 l...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?
I see. Well I'll just buy my own stuff I guess. All in due time. I do believe I'll have to replace the front ujoints in the axle. No problems in 2wd but 4wd and turning to the left there is the sound of failing ujoints. However, I am going to retorque all the front end bolts in case that might be it...

Re: Need help. What does my PW have?
That's weird it gave you an error. I was able to pull it up. And I'd wish I'd have waited before spending 5 bucks for the same thing. 🙄 Thanks for the information!! Now I need to get a key fob for the keyless entry. Can they be programmed by the user? Also need a winch remote, came with none and no ...

Thanks, RustyPW. I'll be checking all that out soon. I've read about the problems and the Abel bypass units. We'll just have to see what it all looks like inside.

Hey, this is my second time posting here and still not seeing my first post. Maybe not "approved" yet so it'll be different than the first. Just bought a 2005 SLT PW. Needs some work and had some minor issues which I'll do slowly and when I have time and money. Right now I'm just doing all the check...

Need help. What does my PW have?
Just bought my 2005 PW this weekend and it came with nothing. No owners manual, no winch remote, no spare (no biggie), no key fob (s) or any idea if it came with one...and I basically have no idea what options it came with. My VIN is 3D7KS28D35G901197. It's got some stuff wrong with it, luckily most...

What's up everyone? Just bought my dream truck yesterday, 2005 Power Wagon. It's always a bit of a hassle dealing with a dealer, and this was no exception. Regardless, it's going to be worth my little investment. It has 182k on it and it's a bit rough but that's built-in character. Going to be start...
