Driving at highway speed, watch your Tach reading and see if the trans is locking and unlocking several times a minute in the 5th or 6th overdrives. It should stay locked up even with very slight presses on the accelerator.

Hey - Welcome to the group!
If you aren't going to do the work yourself, and you really want a Power Wagon, then I'd look for good used one. Sell off whatever parts you can from your "wrecked" truck and scrap the rest! Just my $0.02.

Re: Changing of the Guard

Leif - It's always exciting to step up to a new Vehicle - Congratulations. I suspect my Powerwagon is gonna outlive me since I only manage to put about 2K miles a year on it - It even still has the original tires after 10 years. The addition of my Redeye didn't help things - too many toys and not en...

Re: Hello - 2005 Power Wagon (New Owner)

Update: Spent the time and did a front differential rebuild minus the axle lock pieces. They were in fact what failed in my differential. So I replaced all the bearings and seals for my diff and reassembled. Also, learned that my front driver side caliper was seizing on one piston. I have a new cal...

And for the record, when an alignment is performed, Uneven tire wear is not a factor and an allignment would Not have to be redone with new tires of the same size. The only possible exception would be the case on a solid axle where one tire on the axle is bald and the other is brand new hence they a...

Re: Hello - 2005 Power Wagon (New Owner)

Thank you for the welcomes. Replaced the power steering pump and ended up just unplugging the sway bar connector which after a few weeks the axles finally disengaged. I'm nervous to try and lock them up again, so I'm just not using the locks until I get around to doing a fluid change of the diffs a...

Re: Leaning truck

Leaning a couple of inches seems like a lot...

Get it on a flat surface and take some measurements from the ground to the top of the fender wells front and back. Check your springs for any damage? check the sway bars and the end links... These are kind of obvious things, but it's a start

I picked up one of the HOMPOW 6000A from Amazon based on this thread (and the reviews) $97.09 including the NY Tax The Battery in my 2014 is only 2 years old - but I need to start and run the truck at least once a week in the winter or it won't start when it's 0 degrees outside. Haven't actually had...
