Re: 3G snorkel
Thanks, for fixing the link to your build. It's nice to see what others experienced and not have surprises when I do go to start the install. My Wagon is my daily driver until I get my beater working, so It may be awhile before I start drilling. I bought the hole saw, mastic, and zinc primer already.

Re: 2008 PW 285/75/17 VS 35/12.5/17
I'm running stock height and stock PW wheels. I tried some 305/70-17 Goodyear's that were about the same height as 285/75. 34"tall. It was probably my favorite size that I have tried, but they don't make a decent tire/brand in that size anymore. Didn't seem to have any negative other than a slight l...

I hit a big puddle of water at speed, at night, in a rainstorm. Splashed big time up on the hood. Glad it didn't hydro-lock.

6-speed is a rare breed in 3G Power Wagons. I couldn't find one in 2006.

Mule inspired me a few months ago to install one. This is a 2.5 lb halotron from H3R Performance. I was going to install a dry chemical on the passenger side but lost interest due to the PITA install.

I got their flatlink multimount. Keep it in the center console when not in use. bought 4 Crosby 3/4" shackles and some tree-saver straps.
I don't use the factory Hook anymore.

Sell the truck, or trade it in, and buy a new one from a different dealer. Seriously, you got a lemon (No pun intended) that may have been root cause of something dealer had a hand in.

Re: Improving fuel mileage
IDK about the newer Power Wagons, mine has been 10MPG combined hwy/cty since it was new. The Free spin kit didn't do anything except about 1mpg increase on the highway, with a tailwind. Parking it for extended periods of time is the best method.

Looks like it is built like a brick house. They definitely have taken some ideas from Leitner designs.

Re: Price for Toyo 35" MT's
Those Toyo's are heavy at 75Lbs. I will never buy a tire that heavy for my PW. When I increased diameter to near 35" tall, I tried LT315-70-17 Firestones which were 67Lbs, compared to flotation size 35-12.5-17 at 74Lbs, and only 0.4" smaller diameter. At that time I was going from LT305 Goodyear's t...

Re: Chains up front?
I've run these on front and rear in slush snow/ice. Don't need chains when the snow gets deep. My Firestone M/T2's work great in snow. Diamond tire chain: https://www.tirechain.com/Truck-Tire-Chains.HTM They are lowest clearance chain-type chains I've found. Only cable chains can be found with more ...

This is why I never buy a vehicle with a sun/moon roof. It usually hurts your theft insurance rate too.

Re: Powerwagon's best model year 2005-2020?
Best year(s) is the early 3G Power Wagon, 2006-2008. 2005 was the prototype with all the teething problems. -06 to 08 were Heavy Duty. Cast iron engine blocks and NO MDS system.
