Re: Towing question
Thanks for the info TwinStick. I know, my 05 squatted big time when I used a deckover flatbed to haul 3 tons of pellets. With my old camper and my weight distribution hitch it was fine. Just weighing my options now with my current travel trailer. I know weight wise the PW engine/trans will pull it f...

Re: Towing question
Thanks for the real world feedback! Nice to hear what others tow and how the trucks handle that kind of load. Like I said my old set up was a lot lighter and worked fine, my new trailer was bought and we used it as a seasonal, now no longer doing that. Which means we tow it 3-6 times a year. Even wi...

Tire replacement question
Hi guys....got a question and although I no longer have my PW, currently a 2015 2500 Laramie Crew. But this site has always provided me with the best info out there, so returning back for feedback. I've got stock Firestone tires size 285/60R/20, needing to replace them shortly. The tire size is pret...

Re: 2015 level kit installed
How are you liking your Traxda kits? I've been thinking of installing that kit on my truck, only company I found that does front and rear for the newer Rams.

Re: Having Power Wagon withdrawls...
I worked with a guy that swears he got 24 all day long with his modified 5.9 Cummins in his 06' dually 4x4 quad cab & said he got 18-19 towing his 35' fifth wheel. Is that even possible ??? I have heard of modified diesels getting really decent fuel mileage numbers, even stock. Before 2007 (07 is w...

Re: Having Power Wagon withdrawls...
I had a 02 diesel 2500 quad cab, loved it - but needed more room, sold it just as diesel prices started sky rocketing...That's when I got my 05 PW in 2007. Even this Dec, I thought hard about a diesel, but I have not heard any good consistent MPG numbers, seems everyone with a new CTD has big differ...

Re: Having Power Wagon withdrawls...
As a rule I'm real close to 12mpg in town. On the highway at 80mph I'm getting around 14mpg. If I keep it at 65mph I can get right at 16mpg. This truck isn't easy on gas, but it's no worse than my 2004 HD Hemi with 35" tires was. My 05 was about that, but the 5 speed auto only got me around 15 hwy ...

Having Power Wagon withdrawls...
Just decided to poke around the boards...I sold my 05 PW back in Nov 2012. I got a new Job as a District Manager covering all of New England, so to get my reimbursement all DM's need a truck newer then 3 years old. So...that being said, I had to sell my baby and buy a 2012 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Laramie....

Re: Driving in the sand, I.E. beach driving TIPS?
You are only allowed on certain areas at the cape, air down and you will be fine. You will need a pass, you can get one ahead of time via Internet. Also you need recovery tools, tow strap, shovel, blocks of wood incase you need to use a jack, and I think that's it. Lots of fun, my buddy camps there ...

Re: 4th Gen PW purchase...maybe
I have a 2011 PW and like you, I have a job that requires me to do a lot of driving and have a relatively new truck. In all my highway driving I average 13.5 to 15.5 mpg (doing 68 to 75 mph). For me the decision to buy the PW was a no brainer because work pays for almost all of my gas (including mo...

Portable Air Compressors
Hey guys, I am headed to Cape Cod in August camping for a week. During that time I will be on the beaches with my truck. I wanted to get a portable aircompressor that will fill my tires up fairly quickly. Currently running 33" but may be running 35" shortly. What do you recommend for a good price po...
