My 18' was pretty bad when I first bought it. Almost to the floor on a panic stop. Now at 21,000km (15,000miles) it's better. Not perfect but better. Now they squeal most of the time. What transpired with the water pump? how did you know it went bad?

It was chirping and could smell coolant every once and a while. The bearings were dry.
